Don't get me wrong, I still like being in my own office solo but I wouldn't mind having one of those awkward smelly geeks around right now...

Issue: New Lap top running Win10, office 13. I am having issues opening any old excel sheet attached in my email archives.

Tries to open in protected view and just stalls out or locks up.

Any quick fix advice before I have to call those fuckers and let them remote in?

This happens automatically when I open a older excel that is on my desktop or in my server. But if it is a attachment in office, it locks up before getting to that point.

can you download the attachment so that you are getting it directly from your computers hard drive instead of the internet

if not it might just be the file is corrupted

Trying shutting down completely (not restarting) wait a couple of minutes, then boot computer again.

If that doesn't work, try downloading Excel file to a flash drive, and uploading from there.
