I do not know if this is approprate to post here but I am exasperated.

I have Windows ME. Outlook Express 5.5.

Suddenly all my email is coming in as text attachment. This includes the stuff from here.

Also it converted all my saved email to text attachments.

I have called Gateway and Microsoft...no help.
I have also contacted my ISP.

Look in the Options/Settings for OE. There is something there concerning e-mail format, RTF, HML, Text...

And can Windows ME, either go back to 98 or go to 2000. I understand ME sucks outloud.

I couldn't find any control over incoming messages eithr.

I have had this problem -- sort of-- My daughter mad a change in her settings that caused all of her e-mails to arrive as attachments. The problem is, neither of us can remember what the setting was.

One thing you can check -- On the View Menu, check that the encoding is "WesternEuropean (Windows)" (Western European (ISO) should work as well, I've never encountered anyything that displayed differently between the two.)

I checked the encoding and it is not that

Weird Harold I wish you could remember what you did. Gateway and Microsoft claim they never heard of this problem.
