A while back someone send me a series of pictures.

They were sent to my email account , and they required I open the files. So I open the file so that means the pics are still lingering in my computer. I don't recall the name , and I have tried looking for them but I can not find them ...

Any ideas on how to find lost jpegs ?

Thanks in advance.. :)

I already went under " Start" and clicked on " Find Folders/ Files" and no luck .. was just wondering if someone out there knew some thing I don't ..

I want to find those pics, because I want to prove a point !!!!! *ack*

:)

Did you do an advanced search and look only for jpeg files?

Do you remember when they were sent? Do a search for the files and include that date in the seach. It might narrow it down a bit.

If you opened the files fromt he e-mail and didn't "save attachments" first, then they only exist in your e-mail programs save e-mail. If you've deleted the e-mails without saving the attachments, then they're gone for good.

If you did explictly save the attachments, then an image browser will help you find them. IrFanview has a very good image browser included in it and it is freeware (available from www.irfanview.com and severla other download sites.)

W Harold,

You are a genius !

I down loaded that Irfan program and I just found the pics !!!!!

Thank you so very much ! :rose:

I second that: good advice! Image browsers are also great fun to have, especially if you like to know quickly what is on your computer and peek around at stuff.

They show you in little pictures all the images on your hard drive. You'll find that you're carrying around in your computer the strangest pictures--stuff you never knew you had...and in the strangest places!
