5 minute poetry? This is mine from last night
Do you know how hard it is
to make an apple pie
when talking to a girl
who makes your apples
laugh
try it sometime
You'll gather all your ingredients
then speak of sorrow
into the phone
and she'll lift your spirits
as the peels
come off
your flesh
You'll quiet
as she reads you poetry
stuff she's never even
heard before
but to you
it's sugar and spice
and everything that's
her
And while you're waiting
for your dough
to chill
she'll wait for you
to write this poem
even though you know
it's only
half baked
five minute poetry is fun

Almost all of my free verse is composed in between 5 and 10 minutes. Time isn't a factor when the muse is upon you....

Cellophane wrappers surround my treat,
the package makes it
impossible to rush.
Can I open it without the horrid
ripping that follows
the frantic rip and tear?
Fuck it.
Between my fingers the sound thrills
me as I hear the crinkling
crush of the barrier yeilding.
Ahh, peppermint and chocolate,
the smell of your powerful
flavours excite me.
Want a cookie?

you are posting at a 42 and a half posts per day rate. Thus I think that under the circumstances 5 minutes is a lot.

Anyway, here's a five minute hack:

Between sheets
painted to our shapes
so damp from rain
I run a finger
down your side
when morning
rays lick us warm again.
"Let's sleep under the stars,"
you said.
We did,
and made our bedroom grow.
The walls moved out,
the roof a million lightyears gone
this night
when prying eyes
from neighbors
almost were as far.
Not a camp,
so easy,
just a mattress on the lawn,
and sheets,
and lovers' skin
under faint cresent light.
We whispered, laughed
and loved that night.
Menage á trois
with summer rain
began at 2 AM.
We didn't mind,
she was a friend,
and shared our bed
till morning light.
When sun came by
and kissed our skin,
made love to rain from 2 AM.
And us.
And our painted sheets.
Come summer,
we'll come back,
to them.

The adrenaline
Pulsating through veins
As curses trip my tongue
That is too tired to articulate
The sweat beading
On wrinkled brow
As she shouts on

Muscles aching
Screaming, "quit!"

The perky perpetuator
