Committee passes bill requiring armed employees at public schools

An Indiana House committee has approved a proposal that would require all public and charter schools in the state to have an employee with a loaded gun present during school hours.

The committee voted 9-3 to approve the bill Tuesday after provisions creating the new school protection officer had been added.

So how long do they have to go without incident to consider this plan a success? Five years? Ten? Fifteen? If something happens in any of those time periods, especially a mass shooting will anybody admit this was a bad fucking idea?

I've lived in the UK my whole life (in an area which I don't feel particularly safe in) but I have NEVER seen a gun in real life. And yet they've got them in schools?! Crazy world.

No guns in any of the schools in my area, no school shooting EVER. These things simply don't happen frequently enough to use that as proof of anything. But back to my koala. How many years? If one of our 118 lb 24 year old teachers gets her gun taken by a 230 pound 17 year old football player and shoots her and a few others are you going to back up. No wait I can answer for you.
