Hello all. How would I go about finding an author here who is open to commissioned work? Thanks.

I think posting in Story Ideas, as you've done, is the right thing to do. I would also click around the bios of some of the successful, popular authors here to see if any of them take commissions.

As I suggested in one of your other threads, put together a brief and submit it specifically to writers whose work you enjoy. Ask them if they are interested.

Some here will write solely for money, but most of us want to be inspired to write. You'd need to provide that inspiration, so have a good answer to the "why are you asking me?" question. We happily write for free, so it might be harder than you think to tempt us with money.

Pardon me for traveling and then being sick.
It might help to make it clear who you are responding to when you post something.

I’d support what was said above, don’t PM authors randomly saying, “Do you do commissions?” Approach people with a targeted idea and a reason why that author is the one you need. The only time I wrote to someone else’s prompt (I mean properly wrote, not the rushed exercise I did for an Indian dude) was because they took this approach.

I am not being glib when I suggest that you find yourself an AI to write a story for you. You cannot post the result here but you can definitely enjoy it for yourself.

That said, I am curious as to your story idea. Care to share? I might take a run at it just for fun.

Okay, let's put it on the table.

I normally charge 15¢ a word, minimum 7,500 words. For you, I'll make it 10¢ a word with a minimum 5,000 words. (All prices $US.) Payment by e-transfer in advance for the minimum amount.

I won't touch some topics (kiddy porn, snuff, extreme sadism, etc); push too hard on those and I feel it is my legal and moral requirement to report the matter to the police. Outside of that, it's just between you and me and I won't spill a thing without a court order

Ownership and final editorial control would be yours and you could if you wished publish it under whatever name you want (except mine), but I get to say when the story is done.

I have a certain amount of semiprofessional pride and will need to do an 'intake interview', so to speak. It would consist of a number of questions allowing me to better define your intents, tastes, etc and thus help me be better able to write something which pleases you. The fee for the intake interview is $50 ($US, non-nonrefundable, payment required in advance by e-payment), but if at the end of it, we are still agreed that I can produce what you want, then that would be considered part of the main payment. To help you make up your mind, the $50 will also get me working on a scene to ensure you'll be satisfied.
