Comments That Make Your Day

Got more fan art today, this one from a different person, and it's of my character Alexa. I admit, tho, I'm more than a li'l suspicious that it might be plagiarized art, because it looks a lot like Marin Kitagawa from 'My Dressup Darling', only they subbed in blue eyes. She's popping her big knockers and her tight butt out, and using Marin's signature wink and 'v' sign like she's posing for a photo.

I mean, if the reader sees a big-titted Marin Kitagawa with blue eyes when they read the Alexaverse, then whatever. I ain't gonna stop them.

lol, now I'm tempted to let Alexa go to the uni with pink highlights in her hair and put in fuchsia contacts, just to make that reader paranoid that I'm onto them.

I'm mean... XD

Oh. My. God.

Oh. My. God.

Toofy is dead?

Oh. My. God.

Some new and very interesting characters here

Oh. My. God.

Toofy is dead?

I can't even...

I don't even like cats. But Toofy? Sai? Saia?

Oh. My. God.

Dude!

When your readers discover you have as many qualms about killing off a main character as the actual villains do...

"5* just for the comments. I think I got the whole plot from them. Now I have to go read the story!"

Loved this one.

Received this comment through private feedback on my latest story:

"Hi,

Just wanted to say thanks for posting your latest story. You are a good writer and great story teller. However, your constant use of names/titles in the dialog is insanely distracting. Dad, kiddo, dad, kiddo, dad, kiddo, dad, kiddo, dad, kiddo, dad...

Think of your last conversation with a friend or family member. How many times did you use their name, or title? Once? Twice?

Just the other day, I spoke with my mom. Over a fifteen minute conversation, I think I said, "Mom," one time. Not, "Hi, Mom. How are you, Mom? Things good, Mom? I'm glad, Mom..."

Read your dialog again. It's painful!

But keep writing. You tell a good story!

K"

I'm actually very appreciative of critical feedback when it's done in a polite way.

On the off chance the person who sent this message reads this, thank you. I'll certainly keep your advice in mind.

Liked this one, on my latest piece:
So perfect. As an author, I'm jealous. As a kinky fuck I'm hard, and I'll cum soon, dreaming of the next chapter, and Jenny between Alice's legs with Alex up in her.
It's always good to get a result. Better get on and write the next chapter, eh? ;)

I received three more comments on my novel, VY: A Beginning And An End, today and I have to say, I was surprised. Especially with one of them where they said that
The unneeded details, awkward phrasing, absence of empathy, etc. all convey the tragedy of current events.
I don't really know how to respond other than to say thank you for the fantastic responses. My Asperger's thanks you!

I noticed one of my oldest and probably most poignant stories received a recent comment, and since the story’s only received a handful of comments since I published it 10 years ago, I was looking forward to seeing what someone thought of it. It was a lovely comment asking me to continue to the story of two characters in a completely different and unrelated story of mine. Now, I have a sequel of sorts to the story they were referring to, but their comment was anonymous so I can’t write back directly to tell them the characters they wanted to hear more from went on to make a baby and are engaged. Hopefully they check through my stories and profile and find what they’re looking for, if it is indeed what they’re looking for.

From XerXesXu:

"It would be churlish not to overlook some slight imperfections; the big picture was compellingly described, the pleasure in the writing came through in the reading. 5*."

This, to my latest Loving Wives story, Super Bowl Half Time Show:

"Real people do not fuck to "rap", house, or hippityhoppity rabbit muzak.
Just more reminiscence of Californisocialistica activity."

Somebody has an agenda.

Some kind comments this morning on Wheelchair Girl :)

You got the stars for an excellent story. thought you were going for the Twilight Zone kind ending. Just a little twist at the end. So do you drive a taxi for a living? :)

Never driven a taxi in my life ;)

Lots of authors write themselves into their stories.

I liked that you kept your name! It's honest.

Good story too.

Ohh yeah, I loved it. Enjoyed reading the story. I wonder if Cory and Jaime end up with twins of their own.

Wargamer doesn't like anything that resembles people having fun. Pure as driven snow that one. :D

He got me thinking about something. The book was deliberately written about a group of thoroughly unlikeable people. No one cares about much other than what they want, and getting off. All of that's intentional.

But every single negative comment I get is about the cuckolded character, Herb. These guys always are sad or angry about Herb, who's his own kind of asshole.

I never get a remark on behalf of the closest thing to a blameless person in the book, the daughter who winds up as more or less a sex slave for her father's best friend.

"Poor Herb," but not "poor Robyn."

For men, it's a visceral reaction to the idea of a cuck. I don't know any and have never met one, but I kid you not; my urge would be to pound them into the ground. Just because! And I'm not normally a violent person. Perhaps that's why the commenters are focused on him and not her.

I wrote in one of my stories that cucks were a cul-de-sac in the road of life.

Not the only one, where male proclivities are concerned. Honestly it doesn't strike me as that much creepier than other things a lot of guys are into. But, you know, no shaming dadada...

On a lighter note, a couple from Shattered Diamonds (GM), and one from Fading Memories (Rom.). (I've left off the user names — seems the right thing to do?) ;

1. That made me cry, in both sad and happy ways. In such a short story you managed to cram everything a novel would give. You handled the material with kindness and sensitivity, and even though a work of fiction it filled even this old world weary woman with hope. (Shattered Diamonds)

2. I always enjoy your words and the voices you give you characters. This story is on the “real and raw” end of the spectrum for me. You warned it would turn but I was still surprised. Saddened too by the “real”. An important topic treated with care and respect. And in the end, love. (Shattered Diamonds)

3. Definitely worth the time and effort to read this wonderful story! Through your writing, I got involved with your characters and reflected back on my early days with my wife. Being only a couple of years behind your characters, I had no problem with the dates. And having been to Durango in 1977, and having stayed at Fort Lewis College, I can relate to the visuals in the story. Thanks for writing this and good luck in the contest! (Fading Memories)

It's not the kink itself. That doesn't bother me. It's the cuck that wants humiliation and to be put down. Caged or whatever. Mentally, it's a step too far.

Huh. It seems to be a pretty mild and widely-shared fantasy, apart from the culture of lit. Probably the mainstay of Letters to Penthouse, which is pretty white bread, not to mention half the porn comics on the Internet.

Fantasy? I know of a local couple who are - or were - into it. She propositioned me 15 years ago; I wisely and courteously declined. He was a state judge, and apparently got off on totally relinquishing power in the bedroom. Don't know if he did the panties or cage thing, but in having dealt with him in civic matters it would fit if that was his kink.

Some more kind comments: :)

Following Laura's Footsteps:
Thank you. One of the best and most educational stories here. It was full of extremes - just like our corporate world. 5*

Wheelchair Girl
Fantastic piece! I wish the sex scenes had more detail, but it was flawlessly executed apart from that. Tightly plotted with superb prose - one can't really ask for much more! Gave me major Josee vibes, especially with the beach scene :D

Congrats on bagging the runner-up in the contest, a well-deserved laurel

Very nice Valentines romance story! I enjoyed it. It did get a little cloying for me at the end, but I managed. The pizza thing stunned me before I shook my head chuckling at it. Certainly creative!
