Hate speech laws have survived court challenges in Canada, and not in the US. Hard to say which is more terrible.Does having it happen three weeks ago make it less terrible that a government can do that?

It's not OK for an A-list comedian to make such insults his stock in trade. Of course he should have the right to say such things privately, but he is making money by saying them publicly.Oh, I'd say fining someone for telling a joke is more terrible. A logical progression would be insulting one of the many lovable Lit members from the Great White North, then getting fined for doing so when you travel to Edmonton for the annual Wheat Festival.
Eventually, though, the U.S. and Canada will extradite for the crime of hurting feelings.
