Combining accounts?

For reasons, I have a second account that I posted all of three stories under while my divorce was in the works. Now that it's settled, I'd really rather have those stories under this account. (I'm quite proud of the one, though it kinda broke me for a bit. 😅) The only way I know of doing this would be to delete those stories from that account and post them under this one. Is that allowed? Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks for any/all help and advice!

It'd work, but you'd probably need to contact Laurel on the account you're planning on deleting to confirm with her that you are the owner of both accounts and therefore the owner of the stories. You'll have to clarify this in the Notes to Admin when submitting too. General wisdom has been that you should be honest when re-uploading stories: add a disclaimer explaining the situation to readers, or they might think you're uploading someone else's work and punish you for it. They have good memories!

That's probably the way to go. @mildlyaroused pretty much said what I was intending to when I started typing. One thing I would suggest trying first is to follow the normal editing process and explain in the notes that you'd like the stories transferred to your other account. Since people's stories sometimes get posted to the wrong account, that seems like something the site can handle on purpose when needed. If not, then yeah, delete and resubmit. I second the suggestion of adding a disclaimer during the editing process, to explain they were originally posted under penname [whatever].

You don't need to delete them. I've moved stories from an alt to my main account before. Just submit a story with the title: MOVE: <story title> and then explain in the admin notes what you want to do with the stories. It might take her a little while to get round to it, but Laurel will move them eventually. That'll keep scores and comments (assuming that's what you want!)

Yes! Thank you so much! I have some rather nice comments on one of them and I'd rather not lose them. 😅

You can definitely have them migrated. A few times in the past we did anonymous challenges where everyone wrote under the name of the contest, and when it was over, the site would move the stories to the author's account.

Filing that little nugget away. I probably will never do it, but my humor and chain stories should really be moved from my Darkniciad account to Les Lumens so Dark is entirely stories set in the same world. Now that I know there's a way to do it via the submission process without having to directly bug Laurel through PM, there's at least a smidgen of a chance I'll get a wild hair someday and slowly migrate them.
