College Students? Majors?

I was just curious as to who around here is in school... and what field they are going into. Or would just be curious as to what people around here have degrees in...

I'm a first year nursing student at Northwestern State University... I start my clinicals next fall. My long term goal is to finish a Nurse Anesthesia program. But that's getting ahead of myself... and sitting here when I should be studying for my anatomy exam tomorrow probably isn't helping! ;)

Yes; I'm at the Uni.. Double major here. Fitness/Sports Science, and Lit. (Not this Lit, regular Lit..) I'm also getting the obligatory teacher's cert.

Have a degree in Social Work specialising in counselling in areas of DV, sexuality issues, relationships....but may be tempted to go back and do something else in the future, though likely unless it is art, will be related to the counselling area.

I finished two years majoring in Letters (philosophy, foreign language, history, and literature) and double-minoring in Spanish and Philosophy. Left that lovely environment and when I come back, I have no idea what I'll do.

i'm about a semester or two away from having a degree in liberal arts. five years at the university, lots of hard work, plenty of studying, all so i can STARVE when i graduate!

Right now saving up money for NAIT so I can take the Accelerated Accounting cours which is a 2 year course and only costs 6 grand for both years which is kick ass. Then I will need to get the Certified Accountant degree so I can start my own accounting office or get a job with an accounting firm.

schoolin'

In college I got my BA in Print Journalism and a secondary in Women's Studies. I went on to get my MS in Student Affairs and Higher Education. Even though I still work in Higher Ed, and thus get to work on a college campus (YEAH!), I think if I went back to class it would be for something related to web design and graphic design....I enjoy that a lot as a hobby.

Oh how I don't miss homework though!

I was supposed to pick a major? So that's why this is taking so damn long!

Just kidding. Really I'm studying accounting and such. Beware folks! I have a slide rule and I'm not afraid to use it!

Isn't learning fun?

A long time ago, I received my licensed practical nursing degree, went back for my Registered nursing degree getting my associates, and now, I'm working on my Bachelors degree.

I feel for you doing your clinicals. Some I didn't mind, but most, I hated!!

I enjoy school... but it gets boring at times... I have always tested so well in all of my subjects. The only thing that really makes me have to try this semester is my public speaking class.

I will probably only end up with my ADN/RN before I have to move away from here. My wife's enlistment ends in 2007 and I wouldn't have time to finish the BSN. So we are going to go out west where we want to live, and I'm going to get a job and enroll in an RN to BSN program right away. I will already have quite a few more credits than the ADN requires.

Sky: What type of nusing have you been working in?

If I may ask, where out west are thinking of moving? Just curious, since I too, live out west. :)

Right now, I'm working in corrections. Like a prison. Something they don't have clinicals for. LOL At least they didn't when I was going to nursing school.

I think I've done my stint all over the place, doing labor/delivery and neonatal intensive care (Which I absolutely loved), post-op, ER, acute care, neuro, ICU, etc....

You really have to find your niche. The only thing I've never really wanted to do was be in administration. I worked with some excellent CRNA's, however. I don't think they slept much, but then of course, this was when I worked labor and delivery, where the world just doesn't get to sleep.

I can't imagine doing anything else. I started out as an EMT scraping people off the road and that just intrigued me so much, I had to learn more, and more, and more!!

The body indeed, is perhaps, the most complex, fragile, vigorous, machine ever made.

We aren't exactly sure yet... we are going to start taking vacations to places we have been looking at. I have lived in CA a few times... and bounced around the rest of the country.

I like the Reno/Tahoe area... love to Snowboard. It's not quite as expensive as CA either. So if I had to choose right now, that would be the place. If we don't go back out west we will probably end up in Chicago.

I have to get my bachelors and work for a while before I can apply for my any graduate program anyways. So wherever we go will just be for a few years most likely.

I used to work in a radiation/oncology clinic... which was very interesting, I really miss it sometimes. The ER and surgery interest me a lot, but I am curious about all of it on some level.

I started college later than many. I'm a 29 year old Junior, majoring in Journalism.

I attended college for one year before dropping out. My intended program was a five-year Deaf Education program; I would have had a B.A. in English, Masters in Special Ed. (concentrating in Deaf Ed), and a teaching certificate.

I've taken courses at a couple of universities since then, but nothing toward matriculation.

I'm actually doing research right now on going back to school in the Fall 2005 semester. I will probably be majoring in Communications or English, and I would like to minor in linguistics but that will depend on whether or not I have the time and/or money.

I do plan to get a graduate degree from Gallaudet, though, once I have my bachelor's. Unfortunately their Interpreting program is only a graduate program (they tried it as a bachelors years ago but it didn't last) so I have to wait for that one.

Wow! Is that commonly allowed in Australia or the Netherlands? I can't imagine a U.S. high school permitting a 30 year old in classes.
