I'm in my college town for the summer and most of my friends have graduated (I'm a year or two behind...oops?), so I'm killing time this summer on message boards and IM, except for the weekends, where I bartend and serve to make money, except this town is so dead during the summer, it's not working out so hot lol.

I'm around, kind of Just here and there. I'm going to be working all weekend, with any luck I'll have enough by this monday, or definitely by next monday to buy my digital camera. I'm looking into a Pentax Optio S, since it's basically the smallest good camera out there, and I know if it's not small, I won't take it anywhere.

/me hopes he gets the money by monday

I just bought a new set of computer speakers, delaying the purchase for a week, but they were Klipsch, and they were on sale for $70 off, since they've been discontinued. I couldn't pass it up.

So what's going on this weekend?

I just got a canon powershot A60 and its pretty small and I like it a lot. As far as Klipsch speakers go, if they're on sale you can't go wrong.

The Canon I mean. The Optio S is like 3/4 of an inch thick, and smaller then an elph. I'm excited, except tonight sucked beyond all belief. I made 25$ and had 5 tables. Wow, I thought this was supposed to be the night everyone went out to eat. This town totally dies over the summer. I would have made more going home and serving, but I wouldn't have gotten that bar shift though....

I love the new Speakers, the Klipsch Promedia are everything I ever hoped and dreamed....clear top end, ringing bass that makes everything in my room vibrate....god, I think I wet my pants...

If you're looking for a great deal on a digital camera, check out the Mercury 2.1 Megapixel Digital Camera from Tiger Direct. It's probably not the best camera out there, but for $80 you can't beat the price and it has a lot of great features. I just got one and so far it seems pretty good. A few of the pics I took are on this thread, but keep in mind I had to reduce the size and quality of the original pics in order to post them.

Thanks, but Image quality is a big deal for me. That and the small size of this thing make it perfect.

Now if I can gently remind my gf how she agreed to let me take pictures....

So far I love it, it takes pretty damn good pictures too. Has all sorts of preset settings as well as a manual adjust. It can do: Portrait, landscape, nighttime, fast motion, slow motion, stitch ( a really cool feature that allows you to "stitch" together photos to make a very impressive panoramic) and movie, as well as auto and manual settings as well. Runs off of AA batteries (4). Uses compact flash, has a 3x optical and a 2.5 digital zoom. Has two different timers. The pic I posted on the white shirts and bare bellies thread was using it. I have others if you'd like to see them of my dogs, so just email me if you'd like to see them (too big to post on lit). You can adjust the pic size from 640x480 all the way up to 1600x1200. Its a 2 megapixel camera.


I can understand you blowing a load over klipsch speakers. A friend of mine bought the 5.1 set they have, I came over watched a DVD and played a few games on his pc, OMG incredible.
