Short weather update from the Nordic.. Southern hemisphere, would you please take this heat back?

I mean.. It does give us some insanely beautiful thunderstorms.

But... I want my normal summer temperatures back.

S'il vous plaît.
Wow what an image that was to capture cat! Incredible.

I can very much relate, feeling very happy we had a few days of more normal temperatures…
Been having to take daily trips to the lake for evening dips to get through these weeks

When I'm in the coffee capital of Australia (Melbourne), I always make a pilgrimage to Code Black. The store on Flinders Lane has a really moody atmosphere and I really enjoy its use of space. I had to try their iced salted yuzu coffee today made with their 3056 blend. It resulted in a really refreshing and balanced beverage as the citrus notes in the blend complemented the yuzu and ginger syrup perfectly. Utterly delicious!

Between The Rays
The tracks, the lanes, the alleyways and byways.
Drawn to intersections and boundaries,
Between the rays, between the lines, crossed real or imagined.

Even set, the set parallel, never meeting,
Other set to discover; intermingling, intersecting in chaotic arrays.
Across the traffic and current, crossed real or imagined.

For lines spray, etched, carved mingling to cross minds.
To cross the alleyways, byways and boundaries of culture and decorum.
As we immerse ourselves in the currents that carried us; real or imagined.

In a pretty good mood lately and I think my art is reflecting that. Really good shading and contrast from yesterday. It's Firecracker blend from Single O in Surry Hills, Sydney. A collaboration with their Tokyo store.

From the blurb: "This Caturra blend from Colombia's Caldas and Tolima regions underwent a 36-hour anaerobic fermentation, delivering mouthfuls of vibrant tropical fruit."

Can definitely taste the plum and the citrus in this one. Quite satisfying as an espresso also.

To quote the iconic Arctic Monkeys: "Anticipation has a habit to set you up for disappointment." Only realised I didn't get all the bubbles out when I started pouring. Still a decent pattern tho...

The coffee to nylon post ratio is really too high so I'm trying to fix that today. Featuring a pair of Maison Close backseam seamless 20 denier pantyhose. Those backseams are really hard to line up! Let me know what you think. 😉

What I think violates the rules of public decorum, as I was not emotionally prepared for such a visually appealing non-coffee post

Some church appropriate thoughts I can share
• wow
• amazing legs
• you make me understand the importance of and appreciate quality nylons (not $5 ones from chemist warehouse)
• your skin looks so smooth and moisturised
• even your feet look amazing

Very nice post @Nylonian
Bullshit aside you look amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Hahaha. I am really flattered, Liz. Quality nylons are ALWAYS worth the money. I'm also glad that all the hard work I've been putting into my legs (running, cycling and bouldering) hasn't gone unnoticed. Thanks for commenting and supporting me. ❤️😀

Coffee first, deeper thoughts later ☕

You look pretty darn amazing!

Mmmm. Coffee AND grapes. Really is the perfect way to start the day. I love acidic fruits to start a day off. Really stimulates the senses. I really like the textural sensation of eating grapes too.

By the way, I'm enjoy some nice satsumas before getting on my exercise bike again. 😊 Have a lovely day ahead, Cat. ❤️

It's Summer over there so you'd probably appreciate this, @Cat. I got this for free as a part of a local frozen yoghurt chain's fitness program. 25000 steps gets you a free cup (up to $15 AUD). You'd make that easily even on a casual Pokémon day. 😅 I don't think I've ever asked but do you like mochi? The topping on top is matcha mochi. ❤️

Good morning, @Cat. You've inspired me to do some minimalistic tulip art so this one is dedicated to you. Here's to your spirit of adventure and pragmatism. Have a lovely day and hope the mozzies (mosquitoes) stay away. ❤️

Pokémon is oddly accurate... This is how the weather looks here, expect... There ought to be swarms of mosquito Pokémons buzzing around.
That must surely be a skill issue.. Niantic, do better!

😂

You asked about mochi... I am not really the biggest fan. Mainly because it causes me stomach ache. 😅

Hahaha. Mosquito Pokémon might be coming in Winds and Waves. The first thing I think about when it comes to Southeast Asia... That and wild monkeys. Niantic never gets our weather right. During the storm last night, it showed it as perfectly sunny. Do better Niantic/Scopely. 😂

And fair enough. Mochi is hard to digest and can sit funny on the stomach. Good thing these are small bite-size morsel. Should be a bit more gentle. Wish you could try the frozen yoghurt though, it's creamy and melts decadently. ☺️

Ethereal, lazy swirls for a sunny Wednesday. Perfect weather for a post-lunch walk. Hope you're having a good day too, wherever you are in the World. Single O's Collider blend. Ethiopian Keffa natural and Brazil Mogiana.

I'm not just another name.
Even if you can't see it now,
We are proud of what's to come,
And you."

Always nice to get coffee from overseas. My friend brought back a few coffees from Sey in New York so I'll try to feature them this week. First up we have the second harvest of La Cabaña from William Ortiz. This is my first time having Chiroso; apparently this is an Ethiopian Landrace variety that somehow made its way to being grown in Huila but Sey couldn't find any further information. Having said that, this achieved a very high cup score so I had high expectations.

1785990696488.jpeg

They recommend 18.5g in for 300ml out over 3:30 to 4:00 so I grinded for a quicker flow and hoped for the best on my V60.

Pretty close! Pretty much within the window. The clarity from the cup and the drinkability is phenomenal. Initial nose gave honeydew melon and some very mild earthy notes with sparkling bright acidity reminiscent of lemon-lime cordial.

1785990982296.jpeg

On initial sip, I'm getting the aforementioned honeydew melon and the clarity and separation from using a bloom plus 3 pours is quite impressive. I really enjoy Sey's lighter roasting and it really lets the coffee shine and shine it does! This is the juiciest coffee I've had this year and it's hard to not agree with its high cup score here. I think I really like the type of acidity in Chiroso and want to explore more coffees of this variety in the future if they follow this taste profile.
