Taking a coffee break, I started thinking about coffee in general. I'll pour while you answer :)

Ever notice how hot coffee is great and ice coffee is refreshing, but cold coffee is just gross? Why is that?

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee?

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?

Decaf or high-octane?

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse?

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?

Yes it is gross cold, but not sure why.

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee?
I buy Hazelnut.

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?
Groound when purchased

Decaf or high-octane?
Ethyl

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?
One spoon sugar/cream added

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse?
Never been to one

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?
nope.

:)

I had to bring in my own coffee pot to work. My Criteria:

Thermal carafe (I dislike cooked coffee)
Basket filter (makes it stronger)
Good Coffee

I am not much into coffee houses, but usually I just drink coffee there, not the fancy stuff.

I do love coffee, tho. Yum.

Oops! And I forgot coffee candy as one of the coffee delights.

I've had the chocolate covered coffee beans once. They're pretty good, but not my favorite way of tasting either chocolate or coffee.

I like it to be the best if I am going to drink it. We have a local roaster from which I purchase my coffee for work. I like a very dark roast. I change types as the mood swings but usuallly a french or espresso roast.

I buy enough for a week at a time because I don't have a grinder at work. I have a 1 cup Melita cone filter holder. I use a plain white paper towel because the purchased filters seem to have a funny flavor that I don't like. I use the hot water spigot from the bottled water and brew up a cup each time I want it.

At home we use a french press, grind the coffee as we use it. Bring the water to just before boil. I drink 3 cups a day of the full caf - 2 in the morning and 1 after lunch at work.

If I buy at a coffeehouse, it has to specialize in coffee, and then I get a virtual latte: decaf, skinny.

I don't like iced coffee, either.

Cold coffee and iced coffee are just wrong. I don't quite grasp the concept of either one.

I usually drink Maxwell House Dark Roast, and make it twice as strong as your supposed to. There's no way I have time to grind my own beans and still actually drink the coffee. One packet of sugar twin and a little bit of Butter Pecan creamer. If I'm on the run, it's a cappucino thing from Quick Trip. (Yeah, I know it's not really coffee).

I haven't been to a coffee house since I left the town I grew up in, but I think I always got a raspberry latte. And btw, that coffee house had the best lemon bread in the world. I'd cut my morning classes occasionally just to get there as they opened and have a slice of still warm lemon bread.

Coffee ice cream is just as wrong as cold or iced coffee... i do like chocolate covered espresso beans.

Ever notice how hot coffee is great and ice coffee is refreshing, but cold coffee is just gross? Why is that?

I don't know...but I find iced coffee gross too. Call me weird.

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee?

No favorite brand, and "flavored" coffees are mostly chemically flavored - and tend to leave me with dry mouth. I do, however, sometimes grind a piece of cinnamon stick along with the beans. Yum!

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?

Grind it myself. There are no words contemptuous enough to describe instant coffee.....

Decaf or high-octane?

High-octane...though I should cut back...or go half and half...or something....

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?

Black. As my grandpa used to say, "If I wanted cream and sugar, I'd drink a glass of cream and sugar."

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse?

"A large house blend, please" (Or French Roast....or sometimes a Latte, if the mood strikes)

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?

Coffee ice cream rocks...especially with crushed Heath bars.....

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee?
Starbuck's, at the moment. Either House Blend or French Roast.

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?
I don't have a grinder, so I buy it already ground.

Decaf or high-octane?
Decaf when I'm being good, caffeinated when I'm not.

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?
Usually black or if I'm craving something creamy, with both cream and sugar (see how I kept that answer clean? :D)

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse?
Grande decaf double caramel machiato or a grande vanilla cappucino with raw sugar if I want something sweet, or a French Roast.

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?
A scoop of Starbuck's Coffee Almond Fudge or Java Chip ice cream on top of warm pumpkin pie is yummy. Coffee candy is okay, and my grandma makes a great coffee whip she uses to top angel food cake.

(edited to add: I like my coffee (and tea) strong, but I can't do the espresso thing. I tasted it twice and could almost feel hairs growing out of my chest...and my tongue *shudders*)

I just finished up a can of ground Chock Full O Nuts. I love that brand.

Gotta have the caffeine. I use the Carnation French Vanilla Creamer in it.

I am not much of an ice cream person, but when I do indulge, I always like to have a cup of coffee afterwards. Yummy.

Ever notice how hot coffee is great and ice coffee is refreshing, but cold coffee is just gross? Why is that? I can't stand cold or iced coffee. . .it's gotta be hot, but not so hot that it burns my mouth.

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee? I don't particularly care for flavored coffee, but give me a good, strong Columbian bean any day.

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant? instant coffee sucks. . .I never use it. . .I'm too lazy to grind my own, but I do use a French coffee press as opposed to a coffee maker.

Decaf or high-octane? the higher the octane the better. :D

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it? Just cream. . .real cream. . .not that powdered crap!

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse? varies. . .I do like a good mocha cappucino once in a while

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc? Not really. . .would rather have a good cup of coffee with my desert. . . .

Yes, I agree, but I have no idea why. The Japanese seem to like it though.

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee?
Chock Full O' Nuts

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?
buy it ground

Decaf or high-octane?
one cup of high-octane a day

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse? cafe mocha

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?

While I prefer it fresh and hot, cold coffee is fine. Iced is good too.

What's your favorite brand/flavor of coffee?

Community Coffee Dark Roast

Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?

Community Coffee Dark Roast, ground

Decaf or high-octane?

Community Coffee Dark Roast, high octane

Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?

Community Coffee Dark Roast, straight up, but sometimes for kicks I will put sugar or cream in it.

What's your standard order at a coffeehouse?

Large Kona, please. Or a double espresso with lemon peel.

Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?

I like to suck on coffee beans. So far as ice cream, I prefer green tea ice cream

I got spoiled early in life. My father was a coffe chemist for General Foods, the company that made Maxwell House and Yuban. He used to bring home samples of some of the great coffee beans from around the world and I started having coffee in my milk at around age three.

Today, I love a dark, rich French Roast, half regular and half decaf, that I grind at home. It doesn't need anything in it for me, no flavors, no sweeteners, and no cream. Just hook me up to an IV line filled with coffee and I'm all set!

*laughs at Riff* Sooo, that was what, Community Dark Roast? Are you sure?

Green tea ice cream is pretty good. The worst ice cream I've ever had including the black licorice ice cream my dad brought home from the store (he hasn't been allowed to shop for ice cream since), was in Iran at a restaurant where they served BUTTER ice cream. We figured it'd be something like vanilla, but no, it had chunks of butter in it. EWW

When I lived in Jax, the Maxwell house plant was right across the river and on some mornings.... ahhhhh

On other mornings, though... damned paper mill. eeeewwwww.

I used to live in a town you could smell for 10 miles before you got there. Onion fields mostly, but there are some sugar beet factories not far away too, and those things are rank.

One of my few vices..

I buy whole bean French Roast by the bucketful. Started using a French press eight years ago, and never went back to a coffee maker.

But from what I've "heard" your French press is named Jean Louis, and he waits on you hand and foot?

I grind my own beans. It's the only way to go.

Since I love coffee so much, and didn't want to cut down on the amount I consume a day (a pot), I use half caffinated beans and half decaf. French roast, usually.

I've been buying Starbucks beans at the grocery store lately. I think they're the best you can get at most stores.

The best I've ever had were from Peets, which is a California company. You can buy their beans online. They roast them to order and ship them to you the same day. Scrumtious.

At a coffee house I usually order a latte with an extra shot or two.

Poor beach boy.......are you beng "snippy" with me because I stole "Jean Louis" from you? I'm sure you'll find a ......replacement....with his...um..."talents", soon. So sorry to have caused you such torment.

If I misread you.....my apologies. And thank you for your concern as to the "temp" of my bed.

The "good morning" is a bit late. You should know this as we reside in the same time zone. Only a short stretch of highway apart.........

Good Afternoon........Mr. Rider.

"Do you grind it yourself, buy it ground, or use instant?"

Both - buy it ground for everyday use. Grind it myself when I make expresso or cappucino.

"Decaf or high-octane?"

Both. I'm only supposed to have Decaf but I cheat.

"Do you drink it black or add sugar or cream or something else to it?"

Milk and Equal

"What's your standard order at a coffeehouse?"

Starbucks. Caramel Macchiato. Venti.

"Are you into the other coffee delights such as baked coffee beans, coffee ice cream, etc?"

I love coffee ice cream.

There's a Folger's plant in downtown Kansas City. I used to hang out at a friend's loft late at night for no other reason than to smell the coffee roasting.
