Hey guys, I've recently been trolling the forums in search of people who need a co-author. I've responded to a few of them, but nothing's really come of it. So I've decided that the time has come, to make my own post. I'll try to keep it short, but I'm really bad at that- you've been warned.

I'm a 22 year old, relatively well-educated female who's looking to get back into writing. I've written nonfiction before, but I have this issue when it comes to finishing projects. I have a million ideas, however, once I get halfway through writing something, I'll lose the motivation to finish it.

The reason I'm looking for a co-author is because I feel they'd give me that motivation. Having another mind generating ideas, another pair of eyes to edit, and another person's perspective could really come in handy.

I'm not looking to publish anything, and I'm not looking to write a novel of epic proportions, I'm just looking to try something new (I've never written erotica before) and hoping that I'll find someone who'll be willing to have fun with it.

If you're interested, please respond. I'm willing to write on pretty much anything, so subject matter is open.

My most recent experience with co-writing here was very positive, but the gentleman in question and myself were already well-acquainted. I think that's very important if you're going to be a successful team.

It may work better if you spend a little time getting to know the writers here before choosing someone - maybe.

Regardless, welcome to the AH!

A welcome  for the little newbie from the good little witch.

I would not mind getting to know the other writers at all.

I figured when people responded I'd chat with them a little, get to know them and only after we've established a degree of familiarity begin writing with them.

Maybe I should have included that in my post =/

I figured that's what you meant.

Please jump in the threads around here (avoid the political threads unless you wish for an aching head.) ;)

Like Sarah, I know who my co-author was on the two stories we wrote together. I think that's important, especially since two people can have very unique writing styles.

As far as never writing erotic fiction before, I was the same way. I read a lot of stories here and thought about what I would write once I got down to it. My first story got a favorable response and as I learned my mistakes my writing got better.

I've even gotten so bold as to dabble at writing on a subject matter I wouldn't normally read or write, although I haven't posted anything yet.

Anyway, Sarah's advice was the best. Get to know the authors here in the AH, read some stories, strike up a private conversation through PMs or email. I'd bet there are at least a few authors who are in the same boat as you....they have the ideas and have started the story, but lost the motivation or ideas to finish.

Oh and by all means, click on the links in people's signature files. That's one of the best ways to get t o know them.

So, have fun and welcome to Lit and the AH! :)

And after you've met the avatars in front of the people, you might want to join the crew in Chicago next March to find out what's hiding behind the image. Then you'll really know whether or not you want to co-write with them.

But then she'll find out what a bunch of pervs we all are.

Welcome to the AH Peach :D

It's been said before, but just take a look around and get to know some of the people. Most have links to their stories in their sig lines, so read a few and see if anyone seems similar to your style or is writing in a style you could see working with. Then just strike up a conversation with them, be it in one of the several friendly conversation threads or just send them a PM. See where things go from there.

I've never written with anyone else before and not sure if I could do it ... but I suppose if I found the right person it could work. The key is just finding that right person.

Maybe tonight I'll go through some of the stories I've found through people's signatures. I guess I was just really hoping for someone perfect to drop into my lap. Wrapped in a pretty bow.

So long as I'm fantasizing here, lets make him tall, dark, independently wealthy and ridiculously attractive. *grin*

And don't forget hopelessly devoted to you. :D

But isn't that what she needs to help write porn in the first place? Besides, what could possible be threatening about a couple of schoolteachers? Everyone knows what a bunch of goody-two-shoes teachers are. Just ask Glynndah . . . http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii177/1volupturary_manque/innocent.gif

Oh, but Mr. Bear, this year I'm the librarian and we all know about those.

Yes, I guess that would be relatively important, wouldn't it?

Just out of curiosity- what's everyone's favorite story? (As far as the ones on LE go.)

The ones we wrote or the ones other people wrote?

Glynndah poses an excellent question. I would suspect that Peachie means which story are we most proud of, if she's looking for a partner. In my meager case, the ones marked with red H's are my best. Even the readers think so.

Oh Miss Glynndah, could you please help me find this book? I think it's way back in that dark, secluded corner of the stacks where no one ever goes ;)

Well, of course it is. That's where I keep all the really good ones.

Not to knock the Bear (his stories actually are pretty good ;) ) but don't necessarily put a lot of credit in the little red H's or even the top lists for most popular stories on the site. My very first story here is still my highest rated story and, personally, I think I've improved a lot since then. But that first story does have some pretty hot sex scenes (if I do say so myself) and so it was ranked well by people looking more for stroke material than an actual story.

Find what you like and don't worry about what anyone else says or thinks is good. It's important to find what you like, as a partner will become a significant part of your own hard work and ideas that you have to live with, regardless of good or bad reviews or whether the story gets a little red H or not.
