Danny Boyle I think did a good job; I thought the closing ceremony wasn't as good, but still fine.

I guess I'm just surprised that they didn't seem to have any ideas other than "pop concert." Usually there's a little more to a closing ceremony than that. And the sheer number of flavors-of-the-month has been incredible. Who's going to remember half these people in another few years?

I assume Sir Elton told the committee to piss off? I didn't think you were allowed to have one of these big to-dos in Britain without him.
