For too long, every thread has been disrupted by in-fighting amongst a small fraction of the posters to the AH. Rather than calming and flaring in cycles as expected, it has become the norm and grown increasingly disruptive. The decision to moderate was made on the basis of widespread discontent expressed to Laurel by the majority of members who have attempted to stay out of the fray.

Upon review, I believe I closed the thread in question when removing the disruptive posts would have better served the purpose. I have corrected that error, and the thread is once again open to posting. If anyone has a question or concern about a specific moderation action, feel free to ask me about it via PM, or you may naturally take your concerns directly to Laurel. Almost all moderation can be undone should an error in judgment occur, and moderators are just as human as everyone else.

I suggest that you should reopen the general Halloween contest thread and just erase the posts you think are personal attacks. You closed it right at the announcement of the winners and thus closed down on an important reason these contest discussion threads exist.

I don't mind (and never have) you just erasing what you deem to be personal attack posts and letting the threads stand--I think if you had done this years ago when I was being mercilessly and irrelevantly attacked personally in detail on this board by such as LC and then friends and Freddie, the AH wouldn't be where it is today.

I'll second this. What I see is Laurel giving a whole lot more attention and regard to drone posters in the GB (which has very little to do with either writing or erotica) who don't seem to realize or care that the bread and butter at Lit. is the stories that authors are providing for free to the profit of the site owners. I don't see a whole lot of site respect and regard to those who are providing the base product here.

I had 3,000 forum board posts as BostonFictoinWriter. Most of those posts were related to the Survivor Contest. Even though you never participated in the Survivor contest, you even came over to the Survivor contest thread to start trouble with me. I have never attacked you first. I have responded to the endless attacks you have made on me.

Whether I wrote as BostonFictionWriter, AndTheEhd, PostiveThinker, SuperHeroRalph, or as my real name, SusanJillParker, you made it your personal vendetta to follow me around to every thread where I made a post that had nothing to do with you but for you to lash out your poison at me.

Out of respect for the status quo, we've sat back and hoped that this was just a phase, that the AH would again mellow back into the fun, supportive place it once was.

This did not happen. Many authors have left - the forum, though most did not leave the site.

Debates and differences are fine and expected. But the constant bullying, harassment, character assassination, and trolling by a minority of users is unconstructive and unnecessary.

The Author's Hangout is for all authors.

We are saddened by attempts by a small group to intimidate other authors, to make them feel unwanted here, to drive them off Literotica.

We want this to stop, and now.

So yes - we very much value and appreciate everyone who submits to Literotica. All authors - not just those who can handle the name-calling and character assassination. And we want all authors to feel welcome here. Anyone who attempts to make anyone feel otherwise will find their posts edited or removed.

We are not happy having to intervene. We feel that the actions of the minority have left us with no choice.
