The key is information. Provide it....add your opinion, but allow others to read your sources and decide for themselves.

And tbh - if you don't want to, then tell everyone why

The best way to convince someone of your position is to give them the resources you have and let their reasoning from that information convince them.

I don't get why some people demand "sources". So my word isn't enough, but if somebody else says the same thing that I do then it's okay? That sounds like a cosy little club to me.

I didn't realize you were coming live to us from Gaza. Sounds dangerous.

But you bring up a few separate points which is also why I request/demand sources...... corroboration of information. If your source and my sources agree....the likelihood of it being correct are higher. (Unless the sources are copies of the same story, of course)

Two independent scientific studies arriving at the same conclusion is a good demonstration. It's the same with journalism. Providing your source allows the reader to corroborate and make their own reasoned conclusions. Those conclusions may differ, but at least they're arriving from the same origins.

And last point, you and I (or others) being able to read sources independently mean that our discussions can originate in the same place, with no one person having an advantage. It's also why education uses one textbook (or multiple same textbooks) for a class.

In the case of war, I'd say the other advantage of sources is that many times propaganda exists from combatants. Multiple, independent sources allow the best and most accurate view of the battlefield.

It also quickly weeds out misinformation, like when the NY times accused Israel of the hospital bombing prematurely
 
3 out of 4 Houthi's isn't too bad. All 4 would have been better. Time to take it home to them.

A source is somebody else's opinion, usually well paid for by billionaires to be "credible sources" and suppress dissenting opinions.

Either way, you not sharing yours means you don't want others to read it.
