You're not a special snowflake.

Fuck off

@moderators - please lock this thread. We have multiple, current threads addressing the topic and don't need so many of the same arguments.
Was this a thread about the Gaza war? Seems to have been started when it all began. Better to have one big thread on the topic than a bunch of others?

Yah, that is the original intent of the thread.

Went off the rails early. At this point, I want it to be locked.

There are five or six other threads that mirror this one and have the same horseshit arguments of each side and I'm done and therefore want this one locked for further participation.

You can certainly create a new one as you feel you need to.

“Went off the rails” translated as “we’re done with israeli propaganda”.

That's your translation. That isn't mine. You've determined my position without actually reading my thread. And yet you want me to maintain this thread because you're lazy.

Thanks for confirming.

If you actually spent time reading the thread from page 1, you might have an understanding of my position. You just want to bitch about Israel and you demand that my thread be used for it.

How can you be this tone deaf and stupid

We have:

Over 110 NGOs
30 countries signing a statement including the UK, France and Germany
an ICJ case for genocide with countries joining the case against Israel almost monthly now
two ICC arrest warrants for the primeminister and former head of defence
59,000 Palestinians confirmed dead
340,000 missing or presumed dead
mass destruction, mass displacement, mass starvation
The United Nations literally united on this one issue

…and you think this is to complain about Israel?

It’s about Israel’s conduct.

It’s highlighting that it went from what we were all warning about two years ago into what it definitely is now - a genocide.

If you can’t process that, if you can’t see the nuance, or the obvious, then I can’t help you, but starting a thread to discuss Israel/Palestine/Gaza and then getting pissy and wanting it shut down when the tide is obviously turning against any legitimate portions of “self defence” Israel may have originally had (but have burned in a fire and then some) says more about your stance and where you stand.

Now are you going to grow the fuck up, do the right thing, and restore the title of thread, and let us get on with it?

Because if you did that I would respectfully back off and probably grow a bit of respect for you to coming to your senses.

You're arpy-level dipshit. Fun

Don't give a shit about your feels.
My thread is ended.
Go start your own thread. 👍

with all due respect, a thread on Lit is never 'ended' until it is closed by moderation/admin or people stop posting in it. I appreciate that when it devolves into nothing more than name-slinging, its purpose is muted, but the issue is real and I refuse to remain silent when people are dismissing the reality of famine in Gaza. The IS credible iformation out there. So I am dropping this here, not to be some kind of e-warrior but to share that information. If I happen to see other threads on the Israeli/Gaza disgrace then I may post in them instead but the truth matters and needs to be heard. In fact, since a lot of posters have you on ignore, anyway, they may be read by more people and so a better place to post that info in. I'll see what pops up.

starving Gazans, doctors, nurses, reporters, all within the 'scope' of famine

This week, the UN's World Food Program said the crisis had reached "new and astonishing levels of desperation, with a third of the population not eating for multiple days in a row." The report is here.

  • Overall, we rate the Times of Israel as Left-Center biased based on editorial positions that slightly favor the left. We also rate them as Mostly Factual rather than High due to one-sided pro-Israel reporting regarding Palestine.

ok, so since this seems a source with credibility, I'll drop this here, too, from the same source, explaining WHY the UN is refusing to accept the new Israel/US plan. Just quoting the original articlr doesn't offer the more balanced side to this shit show and certainly doesn't prove the UN's aiding of hamas. The media outlet is reporting what it's being told by one side and then by the other. That isn't proof of either side's honesty in this so, once again, for now I defer to the doctors, aid agencies, humanitarian workers, starving people etc... on just how bad things are and why.

UN and Israel trade blame on Gaza aid issues as criticism grows over hunger crisis

Responding to the accusations, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said Wednesday that Israeli authorities have not been giving the necessary approvals for UN staff to even reach that assistance, let alone be able to pick it up and distribute it.
“To collect supplies that have reached any of the Israeli crossings around Gaza — all of which are fenced off and heavily guarded — drivers need multiple access approvals as well as a pause in the bombing and for the iron gates [at the crossing] to slide open,” the UN spokesperson continued. “We have to be allowed to come in with our own trucks. The goods have to switch from one truck to another. It’s a very lengthy procedure.”

He cites a certain 'lack of willingness' on Israel's part to facilitate the access, and goes on to iterate why the UN is refusing to risk even more lives at drop points because of the people being shot and injured/killed.

Also on Wednesday, when asked if it would agree to offers from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation to collaborate in order to distribute aid in Gaza, Dujarric said the UN welcomes cooperation with any organization that abides by humanitarian principles, but that as of now, the GHF does not fit that criteria.

“One of them being that — don’t set up an operation that will increase the risk of people to be shot at or trampled while trying to get food,” he said, in a shot at GHF, which has been operating a small number of distribution sites in remote, militarized areas of Gaza that forced Palestinians to walk long distances, while crossing IDF lines in order to pick up aid.
by reducing the amount of aid distribution sites and keeping aid bottlenecked making an already hungry population a starving one, it's a guaranteed recipe for chaos amongst those trying to feed their families; by placing those aid dist. sites in even more dangerous territory, and then using the disruption as an excuse to open fire on the people, Israeli authorities are deliberately exacerbating this tragedy.
For its part, GHF said it has been able to distribute over two million meals per day.

But GHF’s boxes are largely filled with dry food products that still need to be prepared elsewhere in a war-ravaged Strip with scarce clean water, cooking fuel or equipment.

https://www.axios.com/2025/05/04/un-rejects-israel-gaza-aid-plan

The UN and all aid organizations operating in Gaza jointly announced they would not cooperate with an Israeli-U.S. plan to establish a new mechanism for aid delivery to Palestinians in the enclave because it "contravenes fundamental humanitarian principles."

Why it matters: Israel has been blocking the delivery of all food, water, and medicine to Gaza since the ceasefire broke down two months ago. Now that the UN has rejected the new plan, it's very unlikely donor countries will fund it, putting the resumption of aid further into doubt.

Gaza: UN aid teams reject Israel’s ‘deliberate attempt to weaponize aid’
It appears to be a deliberate attempt to weaponize the aid and we have warned against that for a very long time. Aid should be provided based on humanitarian need to whomever needs it,” said Jens Laerke, spokesperson for UN aid coordination office, OCHA.

Speaking in Geneva, Mr. Laerke referred to a verbal brief delivered by Israeli authorities on Monday, in which they offered to deliver supplies through Israeli hubs under conditions set by the military, once the Government reopens crossings into Gaza.

The proposal came as part of Israel’s plans to expand its military offensive against Hamas, including the “capture” of the Gaza Strip and a reported comment by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich that Palestinian territory will be “entirely destroyed”

"This is the truth. They see their enemies as subhuman. No irony there from 80+ years ago in Germany."

"Maybe they will someday be friends with their post WWII german parallels with the realization that dehumanizing your adversary can end in severe consequences for your people."

"And it's wild this has to be argued whatsoever. Cities are not completely leveled in war, they stop functioning long before that point. The only time a whole city is destroyed is when you tell your soldiers to destroy the whole city."

Hey Hasbarists - didn’t mention this one?

From Israeli human rights group, B’Tselem.

Any of you genociders willing to start seeing things as they are, and not through your narrow, racist, supremacist point of view?

I'm sure there's a totally logical way to defend this.

That entire right wing Israeli cabal needs to go once this is over and Hamas has been eliminated as a controlling entity in Gaza & the West Bank.

👍

Now to the newly initiated Israeli aid efforts:

I saw a video from inside Gaza, where civilians were retrieving food aid, etc, from the air drops Israel has been conducting, and there were bursts of gunfire going off - with no Israeli troops anywhere near the site…and civilians are still reporting that they have to buy the food aid, etc, that is being donated and delivered to Gaza…

🤔

Weird…

😑

We. Told. Them. So.

Two Israeli rights groups say their country is committing genocide in Gaza

Two prominent Israeli rights groups on Monday, July 28 2025 said their country is committing genocide in Gaza. This marks the first time that local Jewish-led organizations have made such accusations against Israel during nearly 22 months of war.

The claims by B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel add to an explosive debate over whether Israel’s military offensive in Gaza — launched in response to Hamas’ deadly October 7 2023, attack — amounts to genocide.

Global hunger body says 'worst case' famine scenario emerging in Gaza
As recently as Sunday, Netanyahu continued to insist there was no hunger crisis in Gaza.

"Israel is presented as though we are applying a campaign of starvation in Gaza. What a bold-faced lie. There is no policy of starvation in Gaza, and there is no starvation in Gaza," he said.
