We definitely need more pressure on them to do so. And we need alternative leadership that can replace them...specifically leadership that seems a peaceful solution and is willing to compromise to get there.

And the entirety of Israel's leadership also needs to go.

I don't like Netanyahu very much, but given a choice, he is a million times better than Hamas. Why don't they surrender so more innocent Gazas don't die?

My opinion only, but neither of the "leaders" of Israel or Hamas are interested in peace, they both want to wipe the other from the face of the earth. Which really makes life difficult for those on both sides who just want to live their lives.

Why are you comparing him to Hamas? Israel leadership was my topic.
 
Israel is finally beginning to pump seawater into the underground tunnel system. It shouldn’t take much water to do major damage and flush the turds. This might mark the beginning of the end for Hamas leadership.

It might kill some hostages, but reports are that Hamas leadership isn't in the tunnels.

True, and even Israel believes some hostages might be underground. It’s a risk the Israelis apear willing to take. Those tunnels are critical for storing and transporting weapons, munitions, and fighters. The above ground elements of Hamas leadership in Khan Younis and other parts of Gaza are getting squeezed and could get forced underground which will make those tunnels even more important. Israel knows it needs to achieve all out victory quickly before international pressure for a another cease fire forces them to bend.

The Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PCPSR) released its findings on Wednesday

Key takeaways from the poll included:

  • A vast majority (72%; 82% in the West Bank and 57% in the Gaza Strip) said it was the correct decision for Hamas to launch their terrorist attack on October 7 in which 1,200 Israelis were murdered, 5,300+ were wounded, hundreds were taken hostage, and there was a systematic campaign of rape and sexual violence inflicted upon Israeli women.

  • Nearly all Palestinians, 95%, claim that Israel has committed war crimes during their campaign to eliminate Hamas in response to the attacks. Only 10% of Palestinians believe that Hamas has committed war crimes while 89% said that they did not believe it.

  • 85% of Palestinians had not seen the videos that were largely recorded by Hamas that showed the terrorists gleefully murdering, raping, and torturing Israeli citizens during the attacks. When asked about the atrocities, only 7% of Palestinians said that they believed it.

There is always a peaceful solution. It takes great leaders.
 
I known about Bill Maher for years but never actually watched or listened much to what he says. Liberals loved him for years and now hate him. Conservatives hated him but now love him. On this particular video, he’s right. The world isn’t always what all of us want it to be. In fact it never is.

Seriously, is it any surprise these people often support Hamas.

I mean, for a start, what’s your realistic options if you want to avoid problems as a 20 year old Gazan lad ?

On top of this is the obvious sense that they got a raw deal when they were disposessed and get a raw deal from Israel now. A large number of them are plain brutalised by the whole thing, got Stockholm syndrome for the Hamas gangsters that run the show and see them as at least fighting back against a far superior force.

If these folk were given some genuine hope for a new kind of future we might get somewhere, but that looks a long way off. Now the Israelis are starting to put it out there that a two state solution is impossible I’m not sure where we go really. How on earth can you fix this without the Palestinians having a state of their own ? In that case they may as well fight.
