Who did a better job?

Clinton was obviously better, but it's a bit of an apples/oranges scenario. Eastwood's speech was not really meant to be serious.

...and if you think that you're dumber than I thought. While he might have been joking around, the wink and nod behind what he was saying was still an old man ranting at a chair and trying to pin positions on something that doesn't exist. I would call that senility, not apples/oranges.

so, your premise is that clinton did a better job because eastwood is senile?

Eastwood's speech was political humor. If you think otherwise, then I have a sneaking suspicion that you may just be an idiot. Imagine that!

I think Clinton really took the republicans to task, used real data, and was funny at times doing it. I do think Eastwood is off his rocker, but that wasn't my premise. Considering these were two headliner speeches for DNC/RNC, I think Clinton made Eastwood look like an idiot (Eastwood joking or not).

All the same, someone could espy your "self-pic" av and not ever be able to take you seriously. Perspective is a rotten evil bitch.

One man's "speaking to an empty chair" is another man's ranting from one.

Read some more. Try again. Or don't.

I don't think Eastwood is senile. However, he came across as senile, the result of doing such a poor job as a comedian.
Now, if he had been intending to mock a senile old man ranting at an empty chair, then yeah, it was pretty good. But that wasn't the intent so I have no idea what the RNC was thinking having him perform.

Eastwood

All CLINTON did was LIE and OFFER excuses for miserable failures

I'm sure Louis Black could have made the skit funny. Clint just is not a funny guy. I like him for other reasons.

The Republican Party isn't taking this election seriously.

Romney is the nominee because the first string Republicans are sitting this one out.

He has enough money to make a run at it, but he's not a real candidate.

So, Clint Eastwood versus Bill Clinton isn't important, because Romney isn't important.

Straw man. Window dressing.

The real joke will be if he gets elected.

Not even close. I respect Eastwood, but his speech was a little out of focus. He hates that he's being used by both parties spin machines. The commercial he did for the superbowl was spot on though. Good stuff

Pres Clinton's speech was right on the money. Amazing. He laid it all out there. How can you not vote for Obama over Romney in this election, unless you've been listening to too many right wing radio personalities.
