Climate continues to change.

So if their data is suspect, where is the correct data? There are lots of other countries with climate researchers and independent data. Which ones are refuting NOAA's claims?

An interesting link.

I did notice that there was "data" for stations that were not yet established in 1900. On further investigation, it seems that there's a lot of "extrapolated data" out there. This "extrapolated data" would be better presented if it were another color than the actual data.

Another problem historical data has is the encroachment of concrete on measuring stations.

I don't think anyone would make the claim that they feel like they are "winning" when responding to you.

Earlier this week you posted what you tried to pass off as a fact about air quality, and I called you on it. After you were called on it you claimed it was your own original thought, so couldn't provide a cite for it.

At no point in the history of Lit have I ever said something stupid and had everyone call me on it. I guess that's another case of something that you think happened versus something that actually happened.

"Lindzen is not a complete skeptic. He acknowledges that the earth is getting warmer, and that human activity might have something to do with it."

"Lindzen clearly relishes the role of naysayer. He'll even expound on how weakly lung cancer is linked to cigarette smoking. He speaks in full, impeccably logical paragraphs, and he punctuates his measured cadences with thoughtful drags on a cigarette. "

He's 74.

Should he not have cancer?

Urban heat island. Plus, stations are moved. But I was talking about obtaining data from stations before they existed.

Just don't tell me that the world has not warmed up, because I have to deal with the results on a daily basis.

Nobody has mentioned Wednesday's vote where the GOP agreed global warming is real .

House Republicans also edited out Obama's climate change comments from their video version of the latest State of the Union address. They don't really deserve mention.

Sirs and Mesdames;

You have not been truthful:

Your intentional and conscious deception of the public has severely damaged your credibility. You have done permanent damage to science and scientific endeavor.

It is appalling, disgusting and disgraceful.

Very truly yours,

I never really thought much about climate change and how it affected me until I read this thread. Damn.

I got to thinking, it's pretty cold right now. I mean, the average high temp where I am in Florida in January is 65 deg. But they're saying that in July it's going to be up to 90 deg. That is startling. I did a little number crunching and made a graph of it. It's practically going to be near boiling temperatures just two years from now if we don't do something. FAST.

Look at my data:

Well, now we finally are having some wether that PROVES climate change!

In related pop-science news, we now find out that the science of butter, much like the science of salt, has been found to be untrue. The saturated fats in butter are not harmful anymore than slat creates hyper-tension.

In both cases, it was considered "settled" science.

You people crack me up.

:D :D :D

In more settled science news...

;)

The cholesterol warning on eggs has been waived by the experts.

My friend, the cardiologist, told me over a year ago to eat more eggs.

My youngest, 18, eats 4 eggs a day. His cholesterol is slightly less than mine, but we are both well below the healthy range and take supplements. Apparently, too little cholesterol is just as bad as too much!

Doc wants me to eat all protein for breakfast, but I was so pressed for time this morning that I had pop-tarts.

They suck and I was hungry an hour later.

Both my son and I have lipoprotein lipase deficiency, so we need more protein and fats because we can't process them so well as other people.
