Climate continues to change.

We’ve been measuring temperatures all over the solar system for decades. Earth is warming fast, and other planets, moons, asteroids and comets are not.

There are some other planets and moons in the solar system that are experiencing warming but in every case the reason is different. Warming has been observed on the Earth, Mars, Io, Pluto, Triton, Enceladus and Jupiter, in each case the warming is caused by conditions unique to that body.

Also decades ain’t shit. That’s Like Half a second. Galactic seasons could be thousand or millions of years. We don’t know.

Stars gradually get hotter in cycles of thousands of years. This planet also has humans affecting its atmosphere, so it will get a little bit toasty for a while in this interglacial period. The next ice age is likely to be slightly warmer than the previous ice age, and so on until all life is cooked off in a billion years and all water is blown away by the solar wind.

“Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem,” Shellenberger wrote in the piece which was carried by online magazine Quillette. “I may seem like a strange person to be saying all of this. I have been a climate activist for 20 years and an environmentalist for 30.”

He went on to explain that he felt “an obligation to apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public,” noting that he was asked to be an expert reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as well as serve as an energy expert for the U.S. Congress.
