Enemas

I have read the library threads on this but still feel confused and somewhat a little foolish to ask such things.

What liquids do you use to make a cleasing enema?

In UK I have seen the disposable, pre-made ones..which someone on the library thread does not recommend for cleansing, so unsure what to use.

What do you use, or where do you get, bags, nozzles etc?

On one of the library threads someone suggests to self administer an enema you have to hang the bag on a pole... which reminds me of recent thread about how much BDSM stuff is lying around your home.

An IV pole would be difficult to explain!!!

What do you use as alternatives to an IV pole when trying to self-administer...and is this is difficult and awkward to do as I imagine it is?

I would appreciate all advice on this.

I only feel able to ask these kind of questions here and know that I will get honest/amusing/interesting/and a mixed bag of answers. :)

Thank you all in advance for helping me out

===Personally I prefer to use a small amount of liquid soap..good cleanser but also gives extra cramping..ok ok ok I can be a little cruel about that now and then.

In UK I have seen the disposable, pre-made ones..which someone on the library thread does not recommend for cleansing, so unsure what to use.

===The disposables are fine for a quick clean but are inadequate (most) times for this domme when I have strap on play in mind. For just butt plug play they are fine.

What do you use, or where do you get, bags, nozzles etc?

===you can generally buy the bags and nozzels at any drugstore or medical supply store. Often you can get the hoses and nozzels that fit a standard hot water bottle. There are also hand pump styles that work very well if you want something less complicated to use.

On one of the library threads someone suggests to self administer an enema you have to hang the bag on a pole... which reminds me of recent thread about how much BDSM stuff is lying around your home.

===for the bag types you can simply hang them from the shower nozzel if you have an over head shower nozzedl. Or the curtain rod if you havd that as well. If not..put a hook high up on the back of the bathroom door.

An IV pole would be difficult to explain!!!

What do you use as alternatives to an IV pole when trying to self-administer...and is this is difficult and awkward to do as I imagine it is?

===of course it is difficult and awkward! It becomes even more difficult when the Mistress is watching you self perform this indignity under specific directions!

I would appreciate all advice on this.

Thank you M'am

Your advice has been useful, now I need to pluck up courage to buy and use these things :)

well real courage would be telling the sales staff why you were buying them ~~grin~~

I would not suggest hanging the bag from the shower head or an IV pole. You should place the bag only about 20" above you, i.e. from a door knob or something even lower. If you hang it too high it will rush in too fast and cause cramps and you won't be able to hold it as long if any. The pleasure of an enema is to be able to hold the liquid and relax.
As for the contents of the bag you can get a very mild clensing soap from various sites that also have ingredents that help you relax. Or you can try cold or warm (not too warm) coffee, sounds funny but it makes for a nice relaxing time.
As for buying a bag just go to the drug store and buy one, although one recomendation I would have is to shop around the 'net to get a better set of nossels than come with the bag. You can get nossels that are a little flaired life a plug so they stay put better during the administration of the enema (you don't want it to slip out, messy)
Good luck.

Oh, bite your tongue...MShadowsdream. :p

Or would you be so kind as to allow me to do mine for you?

Edited to add: This slave should be beaten to within an inch of her life for such an error. E

Another point...
After the cleansing enema, fill the bag with warm water and a cap or two of olive oil. When you use cleansing enemas you wash away any natural lubricant from the rectum and a little olive oil in a warm bag will make everything feel better when you are finished, not to mention a little lubed in case the enema is a prelude to other anal activity.
Have fun!

Thanks Cardinal I am holiday for next couple of weeks but once i have the house to myself I will put your advice into practice.

Not sure its the kind of thing I want teenage sons in the house for when I am working it all out

Shadowsdream, M'am have i ever mentioned before...you scare me!, but thank you for your advice

What is an enema? What does it do? What is it's purpose? :$

Welcome to the board Nackereia.

An enema is the process of injecting liquid into the rectum (through the anus) for purposes of cleansing. Once the liquid is injected, the recipient of the enema typically evacuates their bowels (the cleansing part).

Here is a link from our Library which discuss enemas and their purposes besides cleansing.

As I am single in r/l, I usually use cleansing enemas when I will be attending an event where I expect anal play to ensue. I have my own bag and nozzles and use warm water mixed with a teaspoon of antibacterial hand soap. After rinsing twice, I feel pretty good. I had not heard of using olive oil to replace the natural lubrication. I must try that next time.

I had never had the "pleasure" of experiencing an enema during play. But, I know there are times when I just enjoy the feeling when I fill my bowels then masturbate to orgasm before evacuation.

You should never ever take antibacterial soap into your body. It kills the good bacteria that is in your intestines and can put you in a world of trouble. Also regular hand soap liquid soap isn't really good for large volumn cleansing enemas either. It can really seriously mess up your digestive tract.

Castile soap is the way to go or a few teaspoons of epsom salts. Our bodies inside have a delicate balance going on and if it's messed with too much you'll get ill.

And here's some more advice: those over-the-counter enemas are good for their intended purpose, but be careful that you avoid the ones with laxative ingredients unless you're sure that's what you want. Sometimes laxatives keep working even after you think you've evacuated the enema.

I have never had a problem, but I will re-think my current practice and study the best "cleanser" to use. Thanks.

I'm not sure what 'cleanser' means in your area. Here it's powder for scrubbing pots or toilets.

That would be a bad idea, IMO,
since there is both GRIT and BLEACH.

Also, industrial-strength floor-cleaning liquid cleaners or cleansers would be a bad idea. Some contain solvents or lye.

Shy--As a test, consider what you might be able to take a sip of, hold in your mouth, and even swallow, without LOTS of problems (besides just throwing up).

I'd say mild soaps and light detergents are plenty 'hard' enough. some salt (say a couple tablespoons per quart) and a touch of baking soda is also irritant but not nasty.

It's to be noted that the effects need not be achieved in one 'go'.
A milder solution repeated a couple times can have a strong effect.

Actually Shy, from a health POV, the addition of soap can cause problems, as can the repeated use of enemas in quick succession as in a session/day. Soap acts as an irritant to the bowel and colon, both which are not intended to be squeaky clean like our skin. As the colon in particular is very water absorbent, the repeating of the process over a short period of time, or even within the same day, can result in electrolyte imbalances in the body which in turn can at the least cause dizzynesss, nausea..at the worst, death by over hydration of the body which can cause heart failure.

The addition of a teasopoon of salt or some baking powder may help replace these body salts, but is also dependent on the presence or absence of a variety of health conditions which increase the risks. I would experiment slowly and with care and guage your body's reactions. I have had several problems from the body salt depletion despite using salt as a replacement, so we monitor it well and try to do extra preparation as well. This is a link which will give a little more info, though there are many others which give much the same. http://www*****knox.com/sample.htm

I used to do a lot of enema play (nothing too fancy, just for fun) until I had to admit to myself that perhaps it was part of the reason why my Irritable Bowel Syndrome was becoming an increasing problem. Since then, I've gone cold turkey. I would love to get back into it, if I can come up with a recipe that would be as non-irritating as possible. (I'm not aiming for cleansing -- just the delightful enema sensations.) Any suggestions?

warm water, lots, tending to hot. repeated x times.**

**Again, test: could it be taken into the mouth without burning?

I suspect any 'health sites' and their "information" where the writers are non medical and not identified.

If someone can't identify themselves and provide contact information and information about credentials, treat the "info" with caution.

Further the site contains the warning:
Website is for information only, and should not be considered as medical advice.
Please consult with your health practitioner before considering any therapy.

From which I conclude the writers are not even 'health practitioners' but probably lay salespersons for one of the companies mentioned.

In fact the site has several pieces of bad, even dangerous advice.
In my lay opinion. For instance hooking a hose to a faucet or shower head and shoving it up your butt and turning it on (they do say not too far). That's a potentially lethal amt of water pressure.
