I really think that this is a legitimate preference for an individual male to have. But each male should be able to decide for himself what his preference will be. Of course, this means that you would have to have been circed voluntarily later in life, but it would be a couple of days of pain and a week of discomfort.

Were the uncut guys rushing to get circ'ed, or were they also happy with what they had?

I had a few friends admit they wish they had been cut. But nobody wants to go out on their 15th birthday and have their dork snipped.

I say the window of opportunity is brief. Do it right away or don't get it done. Unfortunately, that leaves the decision up to the parents.

I'm circumcised.
I don't remember having it done. I don't have any long term psychological effects from it. In fact, it rarely crosses my mind at all.

However, when I was growing up and involved in sports I saw a lot of uncut wangs in the locker room and I gotta tell you, everytime I did I mentally thanked my mom for having me circumcised.

I'm just being honest.

Child abuse, not much different than female circumcision practiced in other countries.

People who say male circumcision is like female "circumcision" (which is misnomer anyway), basically blow all credibility. If they are just going to make up wild and crazy arguments like that, they'll say almost anything.

I can understand people who disagree with it. What seems obsessive and psychologically disordered is the grossly exaggerated feelings and the massive overemphasis on their viewpoint. There is something warped that they make so much out of so little.

i have no problem telling my son i think an uncircumsized penis is unattractive any more than i'd have a problem with him telling me he thought something was unattractive

people are allowed to find things aesthetically displeasing

there is a lot of art i wouldn't hang on my walls because i think it's ugly too, same with certain hairstyles, etc...

i'm not going to force my son to date a woman he finds unattractive or unclean

I defy anyone to prove they can remember anything from the day or week after they were born. And no hypnotists either I don't believe in them at all.

and one of the first decisions i have to make as a mom is whether to traumatize him on the first or second day of his birth

My nephew/godson had it done and he's fine.

ETA: You don't have to have it done. It's not really going to be lifechanging one way or the other.

The only people who weren't fine at the bris were me and his other aunt. Go figure.
