Circumcision, Crime Against Man

With all of the talk about "crimes" and "violence against women", I thought that I should bring up a crime against men: the mutilation of the male genitals soon after birth. It is best known as "circumcision", which makes it sound like a nice medical procedure. It's not. It is a violent assault on male infants, "excused" by organized, traditional religion. It has ZERO medical necessity behind it. It's time to stop the cutting insanity and save the baby males!

I should know. I was a victim of this crime. I didn't have a choice. My parents selected it for me.

My boys aren't cut. If they want it, they can choose it.

Have you ever seen an uncircumsized one???....*shudder*

Crazy bitch. You don't like the cut ones, either.

That's because you're USED to circumcision and the guys probably didn't know how to wash their foreskins. Foreskin washing should be encouraged, instead of penis cutting.

Horny Hag...I'm not a fan of either...duh.

However, I do commend Servi for making a stand, it's something we haven't talked about as far as I can remember. :rose:

Thanks, my dear lady. It is something that has bothered me for a while, especially I found out about the medical facts and got all incensed over "female circumcision". I thought, why should boys be treated that way, either?

circumscised my first son , didn't know any better. However did not do it to my second son, I'm letting him choose also.
I watched alot on circumscision while I was pregnant, and did not know until last year the number of nerve endings and how much sensation they lose. If he decides he wants it later then I'm all for it. But the american medical association said something to the effect of it being an unnessisary medical procedure.
It would be like deciding that nipples were ugly and chopping them off our baby girls in the future.

Exactly, my dear lady. Truth be told, a lot of people don't know better. That's why I am trying to raise awareness on this issue. I'm calling December "Male Infant Mutilation Awareness Month". Hey, someone starts these things, so why not me?

theres an orginazation I saw something about that goes out and talks to pregnant women about not circumscising. I think their motto is "Bring the WHOLE baby home". maybe you could find a few links to organizations like that so everyone can get the facts and stats :). Good subject dear, it does effect the sexual and emotional health of men. And too few women are making an informed decision. Most old school doctors told us that it would make no difference at all. It was a blatent lie. But if you hear no different,,

Thanks for backing me up, my dear lady. Some links would be nice.

As for the other guy, it is his right, if he wishes. I just hope he doesn't push that choice on a helpless infant.

I am and I like it.
Good for you dear,
but have you really never wondered what you may have missed when they took away several thousand of your nerve endings ( and the pleasure they communicate)?
I think you should be able to decide for yourself , and know the difference of your choice.
If someone lopped of my nipples at birth I'd have been fine with my breasts also, but if I knew what they really took away I'd have been pissed.

I wonder about a lot of things that might have been. I prefer to pay attention to the way things are now.

BTW...I agree with Sevrusmax.

Cool, thanks, my good fellow/dear lady (whichever you are- I am still too new to know everyone's gender yet).

The incidence of HIV is much higher in uncircumcised men than circumcised men, based on studies in Africa. Becuase both circumscision and sexual practice are culturally based and therefore linked, it's hard to draw any obvious conclusions from that fact as to its intrinsic health benefit.

My kids were circumcised at 8 days, and I'd much rather they hadn't been. The idea of "operating" on an 8-day old baby without an anaesthetic always struck me as a bit sick, in this day and age. I don't think I would have minded if it was done in a hospital with anaesthetic though.
