What on everyone's Christmas Menu?

I've got planned, basic roasted veggies for lunch and home made fish and chips for dinner.

I'm opting for ease and comfort this year.

I bought Cuban bread and several pounds of cheese & cold cuts from the deli, and plan to make some delightful Cuban sandwiches I'll wash down with some Sangria wine. Oh! And I'm making my almost world famous potato salad.

  1. shrimp cocktail
  2. smoked turkey breast
  3. country ham
  4. stuffing
  5. gravy
  6. cranberry sauce
  7. green beans
  8. macaroni and cheese
  9. homemade yeast rolls
  10. sweet potato casserole with roasted pecans on top

Since it is just me:

Steak, Mac/Cheese and Chocolate Ice Cream for my dessert. The steak will be grilled on the George Forman which does very well. Marinated in a touch of Worchishire sauce for about 15 minutes.

Going to mama's tomorrow, so whatever it is, it'll be wonderful.

I'm sure it will be. Wish I could go to my parents' place this year. Their food always was the best. :D

She has t-giving with my stepfather's family so that she can do Christmas with us. :)

I went all out at Thanksgiving, so I'm going a little easier on the Christmas meal. I'm doing a standing rib roast with horseradish cream, oven browned potatoes and fresh steamed veggies. I just made an apple pie and put it in the oven and eagleyez picked up ice cream earlier, so that'll be dessert. Plus I have about eight different kinds of cookies I baked, various truffles and caramels and fresh salsa and chips and raw veggies with homemade dip for before we eat.

Oh and I got a pannetone (Italian fruitcake--very different from the standard kind, it is buttery brioche dough with preserved citron and raisins in it). I'll warm that up in the morning so we can have it with coffee while the man and I exchange our gifts. And we have this wonderful fresh roasted Ethiopian coffee, which I'll make in our new french press (it's my newest kitchen toy and I'm in love with it).

Christmas Eve is the big one.

Manhattan Clam Chowder
Roast Goose
Rolls
Green Salad
Wild Rice mix
Asst'd Red wines

What time's dinner? :D

We are going the traditional Yiddish route - Chinese! :D

In truth, I would love to cook up a storm, but we have a flight at 6AM the following morning, and I don't want our kitchen to be a disaster since there's only four for dinner.
