Christmas cookies anyone?

parchment paper is easier, and disposible. Cheap too.

Yeah, I have had good results with parchment paper. I'm just a kitchen-gadget-slut, I guess. I covet new toys of all kinds.

Can you send cookies in the mail? If I sent some by express, I wonder if they'd get there and still be palatable? Does anyone have experience sending cookies to loved ones during this chaotic holiday time?

lisa baked me some cookies and posted them to me i got a box full of crumbs :( ... although i still ate some of them :)

im going to bake some cookies also for christmas not going to decorate them or anything though im not good at that sort of thing :)

I baked about 15 dozen cookies this weekend: oatmeal raisin, coconut logs, almond/raspberry thumbprints, and tiny mincemeat tarts. I still have to make some chocolate cookies, rum balls, peanut butter and peppermint pinwheels. If I'm not sick of baking after that, I'll make the sugar cutouts. Then it's fudge time next week.

I used to make Christmas cookies with my grandmother. It's not the same anymore.

I actully had a couple handfulls of sugar cookies at work today...true they weren't home made...but still hit the spot. :D

I put on 3 pounds just reading this post. God I'm hungry...:( ;)

Family Fudge

We have a fudge recipe in our family that makes about 5 lbs at a time. It's difficult to stir at one point, so a tradition developed a long time ago that everyone has to take a turn stirring (or we're threatened with a bad batch *rolls eyes*).

I told my batchelor brother when I planned on making my batch this year. He wants to come over and help stir. I thought that was really sweet of him (no pun intended).

I'll post the fudge recipe when I get home. It's a good fudge. We cut it into little bitty squares (1/2" maybe) and it's SOOOOO rich -- that's really all you want.

I've been perusing the recipes on the Land O'Lakes butter website. They have something like 90 different holiday cookie recipes. I'm hungry now. Thinking about making the German spice hearts with white piped icing. But the Frosted Cranberry Orange Drops have my attention too. Soooooo many choices, sooooo little time....

Offer to trade for apple pies!

Sheesh! Ladies, WHAT do you think I should do to someone who DOESN'T LIKE chocolate chip cookies, AND thinks fudge and most other sweets are too rich? (I know that means more for us!)

I'm thinking about making him a dozen little apple pies of his own and stick him in the corner with them?

Actually on a related subject -- I got to get out my Pampered Chef Apple-Corer-Slicer gadget and though it was very nice of Bluesy to give me a reason to get such a good amount of use out of it. At this rate, it might pay for itself by next Spring!

I like them cookies with the butter inside the mix and the powder sugar on the out side that every polak, greek, italian, jew, armenian, turk, and russian tells you is just from that one heritige but they are all the same and you can buy them all over Manhattan and every one call them differnt names. no what I mean?

My wife has been baking cookies almost every other day. Oatmeal, chocolate chip, almond cookies, sand cookies, cookies with jam, biscochitos etc

With all that, I'd love to eat your cookie. :p

You should make some porno cookies. Just think of creative ways to use chocolate or butterscotch chips, icing, and those sprinkle thingies.

It's okay, you have a couple months longer now to shop for the perfect gift. :)

<<< no matter how many times he asks for a zippo, I think a game boy is a better solution.
