Children of Gaia: A tale of two wolves (Closed for Mairu and I.)

Jerome thumped solidly against Sasha, grunting from the impact. "Whoof!" He gasped, stepping back, blinking. She smelled like Sasha, but this was the first time he'd seen her in full Crinos, her fur was silvery white and she was built for war. He was impressed, but confused, why was she protecting her abductors. "What's going on, Sasha?" He asked in his deep, growly voice.

Garet shot up and turned Crinos as well, ready to fight, if need be, surprised with how quickly the boy had found them.

Jerome saw the threat that Garet presented and hunkered down, ready to pounce.

"The lady needs my help for her packs Cairn. There was a misunderstanding cause of the way that guy took me but he explained it and she didn't even know about it. So leave the nice lady alone and let me help." Sasha turned back to human after saying this watching Jerome hoping he let her handle this. She then looked at Fiana.

~~~
When Fiana saw Garet change she went over putting her hand on his side and shook her head. "let the lady deal with it, okay? I wasn't hurt and he will hopefully understand the situation." She soothingly petted his fur hoping he would calm down eyes looking at him hopefully.
"Oh, is that all?" Jerome growled, slowly letting his guard down and standing up. "Just a misunderstanding? Do you guys go kidnapping sleeping girls a lot?" He asked, returning to human form, still weary of the lot of them. "I thought the hunter might have got you, Sasha. I was scared. I'm sorry, I know you can handle yourself. But I wasn't about to just let you do it alone. If I can help, than I will."
Garet relaxed as well, more because Fiana told him too than because of anything Jerome said. "Sorry, but I couldn't afford either of you saying no. The Cairn is in danger of running dry, we need it to be healed, and if anyone can do it it's the White Wolf, Sasha. But she's already bound to you, so we need you too."
Sasha was curious. "okay i know about me being bonded to him does a lit of stuff but what does it have to do with me giving the Cairn power and stuff?" Sasha just didn't get it and was trying to think about how that would come into play.
~~~~

Fiana breathed a sigh of relief when Garet calmed down. "Sorry. Garet here has a habit of grabbing the people needed out of nowhere. now if you follow me i will show you to the Cairn." She turned towards Sasha and her mate then walked away expectating them to follow.

"White Wolf? Isn't that just a story? Like the Shadow Wolf?" Jerome asked, scratching his head. "Hey wait! What does this bond mean for us? I mean, I can feel her now, where ever she goes, I can follow, but is it more than that? Are you saying that we're supposed to have, like, awesome powers and stuff now?" He followed Sasha and the others to the Cairn.

"no Jerome" Sasha shook her head. "it means those things you said but doesn't make us stronger in any way. we can talk telepathicly to each other as if we were in a pack. our connection is stronger and we also share power which might be what they meant by needing both of us. putting it simply we get benefits like if we were in a pack except stronger. like seeing each others childhood."

~~~~ soon Fiana stopped in front of the Cairn. Then turned towards Sasha and Jerome. "please help us." Fiana was worried they wouldn't but sincerely hoped they would.
"Oh..." Jerome said aloud, curious if it was true. *Then you mean, if I think really hard, you can just, you know, hear it?* He thought, really hard, at Sasha's back as he walked behind her.
"Share power, so, we're almost like one person? So, like, if you wanted me to, I could do martial arts just as good as you? That sort of sounds like a super power to me."
He froze. "How? Do we have to? I mean, there's some bad things in my past that I'd rather you not have to see." He started thinking about the day he saw his father die. Being swarmed by a clan of vampires while his mother dragged him, kicking and screaming, into the safety of the umbra.
The Cairn was nothing but a pile of stacked stones. Jerome looked at it and scrathed his head. "Um.... Okay... It looks inert... Got any spare stag spirits laying around to imbue it with?"
*you don't even have to tnink hard just direct the words in your head towards me* Sasha sighed at the shared power thing "That is not what i meant mister but nevermind that. "
"No you don't have to share your past but i could look into it. I won't unless its okay with you." Sasha went right up to the Cairn smiling. "Stag spirits won't be necessary. Elemental spirits can heal it quickly." Sasha closed her eyes and released the power she usually kept hidden and called to asking as many elemental spirits as she could asking them to heal the Cairn as she put her own hands on it having a white hue around her she poured her power into the Cairn helping to heal it.
*Oh, sorry, Sasha. First time doing this mind meld thing.* Jerome sent, feeling he was annoying her. He had lots of questions, but they could wait. He didn't want to upset her.
"Thank you, Sasha, and I'll do the same for you, I promise." He said, not even sure how they would access each others memories. Jerome looked at the Cairn again as Sasha went up to it, using powers he hadn't known she had to heal it. "Sasha, you're glowing!" Jerome whispered in awe.
Garet stepped forward, raising his hand. "Careful now, don't drain yourself, the Cairn runs deep. You don't want to wear yourself out, Sasha..." He warned her, seeing an internal white glow rise from the base of the Cairn as she filled it with the power of elementals.
*its fine* Sasha knew he had a lot of questions but she could answer them later. healing the Cairn came first right now.
Sasha smiled "i'm going to hold you to that you know?" If she even made it out alive at all. This would only be the second time she let her power lose and she had a hard time reigning it back in. Another magic user werewolf had helped her and she had been in a sleep for a week healing herself.
When she felt the hue surround her she let it and then she felt her power lock her and knew she wouldn't be able to talk until she brought it in again. If she would be able to that is and focused on healing it feeling it grow stronger and she closed her eyes. She knew she was going to have to sleep for a while once it was filled as she was using a lot of power.
Once the Cairn was fully healed she cried out forcing all of her power back inside and fell to the ground going into her sleep.
~~~~
"Sasha!" Fiana ran to her and then saw the little white strings forming and knew that her body was in a healing sleep. "Garet take her to a bed in one of our empty rooms. and make sure it has enough space so her mate can be there most times. Also make sure he doesn't have to go far for things. She is in a healing sleep and removing her from the umbra would be very risky and dangerous for her."

Jerome ran to Sasha as well, lifting her head in his lap. He looked up at Fiana with a frown. "Show me the way, I will take her." He felt very protective of her and would rather he carried her than Garet, even if he had to turn Glabro to do it. "How long do you think she will be out? And you said her spirit wanders the Umbra now? So, I can go see her there?"

The moment they were shown to a room, Jerome laid her in bed, covering her up to her chin, with loving care. She was just as beautiful in sleep as she was when awake. His heart went out to her. "If its all the same to you, I would like to go and see her now, make sure she's okay." Jerome said, turning to Garet and Fiana. "I know how to enter and exit the Umbra, just, make sure nothing happens to her, please?" He said, then turned and opened a portal to the umbra and stepped through, searching for her.

"Alright then." Fiana showed him the room. "everything you need will be here. I am sorry but i don't know how long she will be asleep. The little white strings are tying her letting her be in the umbra but also in this world. Yes, she wil be awake there i imagine but please come back sometime. I don't want you starving or anything."

Thats fine." Fiana watched as he went into the umbra then sqt down watching Sasha and making sure she didn't get hurt or anything.

"Sasha! Saaaaasha!!!" Jerome yelled out in the umbra, the room was nearly the same as in the real world, Fiana must take good care of her domain for it to be that way. No taint of the wyrm or sign of the weaver was anywhere to be found. He left the room, following the direction that his mate had gone.

He found her in the greenhouse, smelling flowers. "There you are, Sasha! Why didn't you stay... With your body?" He asked, jogging over to her. "You need to rest and heal, don't you? I mean, you fell unconscious, why did you push so hard, I could have helped." He sounded hurt, feeling kind of useless. What was the point in being one with her, if she didn't need him?

Sasha looked at him and then smiled a little. "Only my body needs to rest since it isn't used to the power. My spirit is used to it though so its fine. I'm sorry but once my power locked down on me i couldn't speak or anything and its hard enough to pull it back in once i didn't want to have to do it several times and you.... mystic powers are hard to control. You might have died using yours. I would appreciate teaching you before you go using it."

"Whew, okay, so your body rests, but you can hang out here then? I can understand that, its like opening flood gates, no stopping it once you're started." He nodded. I didn't know you could power Cairns with other spirits, I was always told it had to be the packs totem, otherwise it wouldn't work for them. And the Fiana, I was told, follow the Stag." He came over to her side and took her hand in his, admiring the flowers.

"I don't try to control the spirits, its easier to negotiate with them. But I've made a few pacts with them in the past. You can just control them? Please, show me, I want to learn from you. And, maybe there are things I can show you?"

Sasha shook her head. "i don't control them. I ask for there help. That is how they were able. Controling only makes them feel trapped. If you ask them and are nice though they will help on their own. Maybe there are things you can show me. Like how to get along with people." Sasha smiled and then kissed him only a brushing of lips.

"Yeah, no kidding, my dad once tried grabbing a cinderman, he didn't have eyebrows for months! He wasn't much for asking, its a wonder he and mom could get along." Jerome considered her needing help with people. "You don't get out much, do you? I mean, you get along well with other garou, but people kind of... Put you off?" He smiled and hugged her tight, liking the soft brush of her lips on his.

"ouch. i kinda feel sorry for him." Sasha shrugged. "Humans think we are monsters and i don't fit into any of the groups." Sasha had even tried getting along but just couldn't do it. She was really a loner and she was used to it.

"Yeah, well, momma always tried to warn him, but he never listened. He might still be alive today if he'd had listened to her more often." Jerome bit his lower lip, trying to hide the bitter emotions that struck at his heart over losing his dad. "Oh, human's aren't that bad, you just gotta prove to them that you're an alpha and they start treating you like you're the shit, its great! I could party all the time with them, if I wanted to, but getting drunk and dumb isn't really my kind of thing, I guess."

"So, what are you going to do with your time, now that you're stuck here in the umbra until your body wakes up?" Jerome asked, playing with her translucent hair. It was kind of strange, being able to literally see through her this way, but she still felt solid to him. "Fiana says I should stay close, so I don't starve, or anything, but maybe we can go exploring? Hey! Lets go to your grove! I bet its a magical place, in the umbra!"

Sasha listened to him watching as worried about him a little as he talked. "Well maybe someday i'll try to get along." Sasha smiled going close to him, even though she was just a spirit she felt his warmth and loved how he felt.

I don't know what i am gonna do but im healing really quickly for some reason. Maybe its because of our bond. Maybe its letting me heal quicker. That's probably stupid though." Sasha nodded. "You should stay close. I don't want to go very far either. i could lose contact with my body. especially if I went to the grove. The tethers only can help so much."

"You know, i've never hugged a ghost before." Jerome teased, squeezing his arms around Sasha's translucent form, wondering how come she felt solid to him. "Must be the bond. Yeah, I think we're going to be saying that a lot." He said, with a chuckle. "Hey, honey? Why am I growing boobs? Must be the bond, sweet heart!" He giggled like mad over his own warped sense of humor.

"Should I go back and, you know, feed you soup or something? You're body must be starving by now. I know I am getting kind of hungry..." Jerome asked, looking down into her eyes, longing to kiss her again. Again and again.

Sasha smiled and laughed at his humorous comments and then nodded. "soup would be nice. Ithink i'll stzy in the same room in the umbra so you don't have to go looking for me if you come back as well.

"I'll take real good care of your body, Sasha." He paused, realizing how that must have sounded. "Weirdest thing I've ever said, but, you know what I mean..." He said with a laugh then sighed, opening a portal back to the real world.

He went through and let it close, waving at his mate before it sealed behind him. Then he went back to the room where her body lay, resting, healing. "Hey Garet, Fiana, she says she's fine, but can you maybe get us something to eat? I need to feed her and I'm feeling kind of hungry too." He went over and stroked her hair, kissing her brow, loving her deeply. She looked so vulnerable like this that his heart ached even though he knew she was only a world away.

Sasha smiled as he left then went to the room and layed on the bed closing her eyes still aware but comfy.

~~~
Fiana stood as Jerome came back and nodded at his request. "Garet, would you please get them bith something to eat?" After Garet had left she looked at Sasha and her mate longingly wishing she had a mate of her own. "If you need anything im just a little bit aways and any wolf will point you towards me if you ask." She then left going to her own room feeling that overwhelming loneliness as she always did.
Garet brought Jerome a bowl of stew and a cup of broth, probably strained from the stew for Sasha, as she wasn't going to be able to chew anything in her current state. "Here, just spoon a little in her mouth at a time, don't choke her with it." Garet explained, giving Jerome a sleeve of crackers as well. "Its venison, even the broth is hearty, it will sustain her till she wakes."
"Where did Fiana go?" He asked, concerned. "I don't know, she seemed kind of bummed out for some reason. I hope we're not imposing on you guys too much." Jerome answered, taking the offered food with a grateful smile. "Oh, wait, she did say she wasn't going to be far away and that you guys would know where to find her..." Jerome remembered as he went about feeding Sasha just as Garet had instructed, careful not to give her too much at once, waiting for her to naturally swallow each bit in her sleep.
"Okay, thanks, yeah, I know where to find her... Don't worry about Fiana, she's a tough kid, got a heavy burden on her shoulders though. No time for love, ya know?" Garet said, shaking his head as he turned to leave. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that... But its not like she's gonna be alone forever, right? She's got plenty of time to find someone." Jerome said, trying to brighten the mood.
Garet just smiled, a little on the sad side and nodded slightly, not saying another word before leaving Jerome to take care of Sasha.
