Chat thing

How do you work the chat thing? I went on there and it set me up in a room all on my lonesome. Was it just no-one was there at the time? Do none of you use it? Or am I missing a vital command that would direct me to where the Lit people hang out?

I usually tend to use the threads as a chat room...

click on Live Chat,

scroll down to Sign Up, or

scroll further down to enter your Username and Password.

click Okay or Proceed or whatever the word is...

then a screen will open saying 'Digichat is loading...'

wait for a min (okay i have a 56k modem)

and bob's your uncle or aunt or something

If you like communicating in one-word sentences, then go to Chat. If your thoughts tend to be a little more complex than that, forget it.

I always get chat roomies with 2 word vocabs.

It's nice to private chat ( I hate cyber), but the guys usually lose interest quick if you don't have sex with them. If anybody finds a place to hook up and have an actual chat conversation, with ideas and inteligence and everything, let me know! I like sexy chat, but not chat that is only sex.

To all,

I should have said that I was talking specifically about the general chat rooms where everyone's shouritng to be heard. Private chats are fine and I've met some very good people there. If I'm looking for on-line sex I'd go to a SRPG rather than do it via chat. Chats are too fast.

Ahh chat. I love proper chat forums sadly most of the places out there just scroll and their too damn fast!

Now I shall take a moment to plug a little friendly chatsite i use, you click to refresh therefore you don't get left behind in a conversation. I must say it is a little slow at the moment so if you want to be in a room with lots of people this one isn't good. People there are generally friendly and interesting to chat to and well I pretty much live there when I am online!

Learning the chat thing.

Hi Earl? Quesla here: I tried it too; I had to get hubby's help visually; I'm completely blind and use a program called JAWS by Henter Joice a Freedom Scientific product. He couldn't figure out how to get JAWS to read the incoming text from the other conversers. We landed in the Lounge. I know from other chat programs that were more configured for the blind that there is usually a generall room that you can go to first and then to other specialty group rooms or even private rooms. There is probably a column of links to the other rooms. Hope this helps?

Not being faint of heart, and wanting to explore all of Lit, I ventured into the chat rooms a couple of nights ago. I thought I might be able to sit and watch, learn the rooms. I nearly had a stroke when all of the sudden all of these messages started appearing on my screen: "26yr old male likes older women wanna watch" "hi _____ wanna have sex" and ok you get the idea. They were popping up faster than I could get rid of them, and at one point I think there were about 20 or so.

This is now my chat room.
