This is for Laurel and/or Manu and deals with abuse by the chat monitor. While I realize that it is perhaps inappropriate to deal with it in this venue, I am so disappointed in what was once my lifeline as I recovered from a severe attack of MS, that I cannot let this go unremarked.
Prior to my experience with the current Chat Monitor, my interraction with Lits had been pleasant, cheerful, stimulating intelectually (really!) and courteous. There had never been a problem.
As a background to this, let me say that I am a technocretin and really did not know that there were essentially two "wings" to Lits. I had had a great deal of difficulty in getting to my stories and had asked several times how to overcome the problem. The responses I had had were generally non responsive in that the folks replying did not seem to comprehend what the problem was.
So, in desperation, I wrote a somewhat sarcastic question using words of one syllable, and deliberately misspelled, because I knew that it would grab someone's attention and the problem would be solved.
I was right! It got a response as you can see. It also drew Laurel's attention and the problem was resolved (and again, thank you Laurel)
I communicated to the offended chat monitor that the problem was resolved and that as far as I was concerned the matter was a dead issue and I would not raise in public or the chat rooms because others did not to become involved in a pissing contest. End of story - I thought.
But since then as you can see, our chat monitor has continued to barrage me with e-mails and threatened banning etc.
While I am annoyed at the threats, let's face it, there is life outside of Lits (Sorry guys), but because of this person's persistent harassment, I feel that I have to make it public. That had not been my initial intention, but then, neither had I intended to build a firewall against a constant stream of abuse.
So, with apologies, I attach some of the correspondence 'twixt us twa" so that you get a flavour of this person's attitude. I cannot help but think that I am not her (I assume "her" but that may be sexist - I apologize) only victim.
The fact is that Manu and Laurel. our gracious hosts, are not doing this for free - nor should they. It therefore follows that, as a commercial enterprise, they would have an interest in the manner in which their "staff" treats Lits. "customers".
Laurel and Manu have always been pleasant and graceful. What follows is an unpleasant aberation, I am sure. I also again apologize for making this public, but it seems to me, perhaps incorrectly, that this sort of thing may have gone unchecked for some time and one wonders how many "customers" walked away.
As I say, Lits and the folks were great healers at a time when I was not sure I would live.
What follows gives me great sorrow. And again, I apologize to those who really didn't need this shit. I am truly sorry.
