Phew. My friend wants to move my visit to another weekend because I don't have the energy to go dancing tonight - it was only this week that she asked me about it, and I didn't even promise I'd be good with that.

Well, I suspect it will be postponed a lot more than one week. The end of first working week is definitely not the optimal time.

Good morning from the Midwest of the USA. No sun and no heat this morning or the weekend. More snow tonight and into Sunday. And the week ahead is typical winter in the 20F or less. So how to get to Arizona, dry but too hot today or coming week 55-70F.

We got back to 0...+2°C during the day until Monday, freezing at the night. Even some of more snow, but that temperature means high humidity outdoors... Only from Tuesday onwards it seems to stay below freezing point.

And I'm shivering though I have nice +22°C indoors.

I meant to say that AZ was dry, cool, and not very hot today. I have several friends that winter there and not Florida as that state can get very humid.

are you sure you aren't reading her priorities incorrectly? Like before I'd make the assumption that dancing was the number one thing, did you propose a different activity, such as lunch or dinner? If not, her "maybe next week-next time" seems like the polite response to someone declining an invitation with "really tired", "really busy", "under the weather" which is like the realistic "washing my hair"... like those are the common ways of saying yeah, I don't really want to hang out. If you decline an invite, without a counter, it is fair to interpret that as a flat no, so its possible that dancing isn't her number 1, but she thought you bailed. obviously I can't say either way, wasn't my conversation. Just asking if you considered.

Yeah it does. She suggested next week instead but I'm afraid it will take a lot of longer before the next opportunity from my part. I may have most weekends free, but having energy is another thing.

I was also taking some stuff to her. Something she lent to me, and something I was giving to her. So now those continue taking place here. (They were the only reason I didn't plan on taking the train but driving myself.)
