Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

Did someone say okra... please tell me no ones making fried okra. I was already drooling over the tots not sure I can take much more without raiding the kitchen 🤤😭
What in the actual is okra?
I grew some last year. We pickled a bunch.
Here, have a jar....

Okay, deformed pickles? Pickled dick?
It looks like fossilized sperm
Aaahhhhh thanks Nebs
Dang it now gumbo... that does it I'm raiding the kitchen...
Gumbo?!

I have so many questions

Oh and good morning folks! One of those when waking up is a challenge, but it's alright now that I am already having breakfast. Still haven't decided if I'll walk or take the bus today, it's the nasty +1°C with so much humidity it feels like freezing.

And I haven't even tasted the plant.
It is grown in the southern part of the US and is commonly offered as part of traditional southern cooking. It is a bit of an acquired taste. There are definitely folks that LOVE ocra and will go out of their way to have it, and others who have MM's response of gross.
I fall a bit between the two ends of the spectrum - I did not grow up eating it (being a northern girl), but Mr Cas loves it and so I will eat some when he does - but I will not go out of my way to obtain it.

You can get the seeds even here, but it requires growing the seedlings indoors and a greenhouse to get anything to eat. And it definitely hasn't made it's way into our cooking.

This is a really good explanation I'm actually a bit particular about ocra if it's not fried or like musey said in gumbo I usually won't touch it.

But I'm particular about how I like certain vegetables prepared in general.

I may not be good at much, but if I can show any of the younger folks some of the amazing songs by musicians who had actual talent (not computer fixed) from the past, I am a happy woman. 😍😍😍😍
For me I like EDM 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also IM humble O, I think Lady Gaga is the best female vocalist of the 21st century. Listen to her singing star spangled banner at the Super Bowl. I love her commercial pop stuff, I have very fond memories with that in the background.

Zas is a great French artist. Aviccii was a EDM dj/mixer and made some good dance music.
Taylor Swift, Adele, Katy Perry, Pink,Sia all are on my phone and played in the car.

I grew up listening to rock music from the last century and some of its okay, I am more a pop girl. Springsteen was played to death in my house.

What I think I am trying to get across is that the music we listened to with our friends growing up is the music we relate to.

I agree we all have a connection to the music we grew up on and it sticks with us our whole lives.

Also I enjoy Lady Gaga myself. My dad couldn't stand her at first, and refused to listen to her until I played him this video without telling him it was her. Afterwards caught him listening to her more then a few times lol 🤣

I love Lady Gaga. She’s so underrated
