Challenges that I set myself

As an inexperience fiction author (I write non-fiction professionally), I set some challenges for myself based partly on other author's advice in this forum and partly on the characteristics I perceive in awesome stories from this site. Special thanks are due to this year's Valentine winner, "She Needs a Montage!" by Firebrain and Firebrain's challenge to write Alpha male characters.

I recently submitted two stories that should show up soon:

1) "Danielle's Alpha" (specifically for Firebrain's challenge)
Challenge: write a sympathetic Alpha male (The light side of the Alpha male type)
Challenge: write present day story in the style of 19th century romance

2) "Wanting Impresario"
Challenge: write a sympathetic Alpha male (The dark side of the Alpha male type)
Challenge: write in first person present tense (I have never done this before)
Challenge: reveal character motivation primarily through dialog
Challenge: write a very confident female lead (even if she may be misguided)
Challenge: create a likable bad guy who thinks he's a good guy
Challenge: include mystery/suspense/twist

I am excited to receive feedback on the merit of the challenges as well as the degree of success I have achieved. I am learning and hopefully improving.

Finally, what do you think of intentional puns in erotica?

Replying to myself with an update in case anyone is willing to read and comment about my degree of success or failure portraying fictional archetype men without falling into stereotypes.

My last three stories have been an attempt to write three distinct male personality types. I would love any constructive feedback I can get.

Beta Male: http://www.literotica.com/s/irresist...-sister-in-law
Alpha Male (The dark side): http://www.literotica.com/s/wanting-impresario
Alpha Male (The light side with a twist): http://www.literotica.com/s/danielles-alpha

These stories contain sexy scenes in accordance with respective story tags, but I was striving to create character studies. The sex is intended in part to reveal the characters' approaches to life. You have been forewarned ;) I found them a little arousing when writing, but many other stories at this site are hotter even for me.
