Cereal

We eat a lot of cereal, currently we are working on 5 open boxes that will be empty by the end of the week. Right now we have 2 fruity pebbles, 1 cocoa pebbles, Cinnamon toast crunch, banana nut crunch, peanut butter crunch, bran flakes, total blueberry flakes and 2 boxes of oatmeal.
I'm just kidding with you but this post just cries for this, and it is getting close to Christmas.

OK, repeat your post, then say the next line.

...and a partridge in a pear tree.:D

LOL :D

toasted oats (not necessarilly Cherios), plain bran flakes, plain wheatcereals, oatmeal. Usually with a touch of milk, though I'll occasionally use water. Once in a while I too use a spoon to slice a banana into whatever cereal I'm eating.

For milk, it's "Organic Valley--Lactose Free" or nothing. Lactose is my killer and having seen the film "The Corporation" I won't go near 3M ampified milk.
One banana and I turn into the Goodyear blimp.

I've been greenlit to try one last ditch effort to see if I can tolerate local, organic, heavy as fuck heavy cream which apparently doesn't have the same lactose in it as milk by my witch doctors. I'm really hoping I can, or it's the nail in the coffin of coffee for me.

Bananas are treating me well. Applesauce better still better. I'm getting cranky with the candyman here eat all this approach of my MD AND the "you must be patient and drugs are only masking the problem" witch doctors alike.

Netz, do you know if raw milk is suitable for people in your situation?

In the morning, I usually like Crispix, Corn Flakes, or something bland like that. I can't handle really sweet stuff in the morning. Also, I eat my cereal without milk. Though I'm not truly lactose intolerant (at least, no doctor has diagnosed me as such), I still dislike milk and most dairy will upset my stomach. I also like oatmeal (usually instant, cause I'm lazy and impatient), and Cream Of Wheat. I also enjoy a nice English muffin with jelly. :)

However, I like the sugary cereals as a snack. Instead of chips, sometimes I'll get a bowlful of Reese's Puffs or Cocoa Pebbles or whatever to sit down with while I watch TV or read.

I am thinking it may in fact be a terrible idea, because one stray bacterium, and oh noes. But I'll ask the local "witch doctor", because he has been "unable to do anything" for me (can you tell I see the MD tomorrow?)

Does store milk have more lactose than raw?

I like to boil eggs and throw the yellow out. Make deviled eggs using a salsa and oatmeal mix. I haven't convinced anyone to try it though. Healthy low fat breakfast.

I would think they'd have similar lactose - but raw milk just seems to have some issues with it on the producer level. I've used very very small producer milk that was still just non-homog as opposed to raw - and I have to say the quality was scary-inconsistent. I had a batch that was wrong wrong wrong, so I'm really only comfortable with Organic Valley or big box rbst-free (if I were going to do milk) as I think they control quality better. Bacterial infection is something I simply can't afford to court.

I would recommend that anyone having dairy issues try what I'm doing and go dairy free for a while. Like 3 weeks. Then try some hard cheese, like an inch cube, see how you feel.

If it doesn't work you will KNOW it. This time around, without the benefit of tons of prednisone to quiet every symptom, I can say it's not working for me.

Try the same with heavy cream, good luck finding one with no carageenan in it. You'll know pretty quickly if it's bothering you or not.

Then graduate to your milk of choice, raw or not.

Filling them with salsa I'd be on board with - in about a year at this rate.

It sounds gross but it's really good. You have to use Pace or Walmart salsa. I haven't tried just salsa. Oatmeal gives it texture.

I dont care how it sounds, I hate the white in eggs. I only eat the yellow part.

All the bad stuff is in the yellow part. Egg whites are very low in calories, have no fat, no cholesterol, and are loaded with protein.

You are preaching to the wrong person here, I only care for tasty things in my life. I havent eaten what I didnt like since I was 6 no matter how much my mother ran after me trying to persuade me its "healthy".
I am going to die some day sooner or later anyway

Seconded.

Blegh! Thirded! :(

I eat oatmeal with bacon and brown sugar. Sometimes I eat frosted mini wheats, honey-nut cheerios, or Just Bunches. I also occasionally will eat Grape nuts, I like the crunchies.

I don't give two rat's asses about low fat, low carb whatever, I eat smaller portions of whatever I want at the time, and run the rest off at the gym :D

My fave cereal of all time though, is Raisin Bran. I'm so weird...

There is a lot of good stuff in the yellow part too. I don't do egg whites, just eggs in moderation and cooked in a little olive oil.

I rarely eat eggs, unless I'm sick with the crohns - then I crave them like they're going out of style. But, honestly, most egg foods are nasty.
