Cereal

PLain shredded wheat, and as an occasional snack not my morning meal. I try to eat as low carb as possible and cereal just doesn't fit into that.

So what kind of cereal do you eat? No real reason. Just wondering since I'm sure to many people it's probably odd that I think plain ole cheerios (not the honey nut kind) taste sweet without sugar.

I LOVE plain cheerios! It is my favorite snack. I don't eat them with milk though. I just eat them right out of the bag! ;)

Doesn't "frosted" mean coated in sugar? (I've never tried them; I'm genuinely asking.)

Interesting comparison chart here.

The biscuits have a sugar coating over one side, so it's essentially like some sugar to... what is that other wheat-biscuit cereal whose name I can't currently recall.

I think I want some granola with vanilla yogurt and blueberries or maybe the Kashi Cinnamon Harvest cereal now.

My cereal of choice is Kashi with sliced banana minus the Kashi.

Grainfree 3 mos and counting. Apparently I'm also dairy allergic. And there's sugar in every single freaking soy and rice milk even if I *could* have those. So like a high maintenance Elvis had he wanted to live, Banana and PB are for me.

For milk, it's "Organic Valley--Lactose Free" or nothing. Lactose is my killer and having seen the film "The Corporation" I won't go near 3M ampified milk.
One banana and I turn into the Goodyear blimp.

never buy fancy cereals - I am far to miserly to spend money on that sort of thing- if there is spare money in the grocery budget I'd rather buy wine or good steak.

I eat plain old porridge (not instant), with raisins and honey, or I make home-made muesli. Sometimes I buy weet-bix, which are sort of like bricks of compressed cardboard, but are much beloved by people in this part of the world

Weetbix is good.

I just finished a bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats. Cheerios is a frequent staple for me. I only have one kind in the house at a time, so I usually get whatever appeals at the moment I'm in the grocery store.

i like plain Cheerios with a banana cut up. That or Rice Krispies. :)

I gotta have things in my cereal most of the time. Raisins, cut fruits, whatever. I like something interesting in with the grains.

We eat a lot of cereal, currently we are working on 5 open boxes that will be empty by the end of the week. Right now we have 2 fruity pebbles, 1 cocoa pebbles, Cinnamon toast crunch, banana nut crunch, peanut butter crunch, bran flakes, total blueberry flakes and 2 boxes of oatmeal.

I like to melt extra sharp cheddar cheese on whole wheat shredded wheat. Not the healthiest thing in the world but good. Just nuke it until the cheese melts.

I'm a complete purist. When I eat cereal, I eat CEREAL - no bananas, no berries, no milk, none of that shit, just a spoon and some cereal.

I tend not to eat cereal, mostly because I eat breakfast at work and carrying cereal, a bowl, and milk to work every day is quite the hassle. I also tend to get sick of a cereal when I eat it too many days in a row.

When I do eat cereal though, I prefer the different Kashi cereals these days when I'm feeling grown up and looking to eat healthy. When I want sugar, Frosted Mini Wheats and Honey Bunches of Oats. As a kid, I loved Lucky Charms and Apple Jacks and Cooooooookie Crisps--love that chocolate milk at the end of the bowl. :D

Porridge (Spelling may not be right, that word looks VERY strange right now) with nuts dried fruit and fresh fruit.

Weetbix with peaches, muesli, dried fruit and yoghurt.

Fried bacon, eggs, tomato, salami fragments, black pudding, toast, fried grated potato (nothing added), spinach leaves

Pancakes

Berry smoothie.

Green tea.

On the best of mornings, L and I make EVERYTHING. Breakfast is serious business for us, and having EVERYTHING can set you up for a seriously golden day. Cooking is a most satisfying ritual.

Also, french toast. Muffins if available.

For several years my standard cereal breakfast was a large serving of frosted shredded wheat topped with granola and grape nuts. I've given up the frosted form and now eat plain bite-sized shredded wheat with some low-fat granola or a generic version of honey flakes and nuts (or whatever that's called). In the winter I often do oatmeal (porridge, for you EU and UK folk) with maple syrup. Sometimes if I'm feeling nostalgic for the tastes of the holidays I'll put cinnamon and ginger in my oatmeal, which makes it taste a lot like Indian Pudding.

Fruit has an honored place on my cereal. Bananas much of the time, but bluerries and strawberries abound in the summer.

I like my cereal mixed with fruit and plain or vanilla yogurt. Cereal of choice is granola or some kind of bran. Uncle Sam cereal with strawberries and vanilla yogurt is to die for.

I LOVE raisin bran, but it is waaay too full of sugar and well, it has serious gastro effects. So, I only have it twice a year or so.
