Moderate Democrats are pushing back at Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-Mass.) view that progressives have taken control of the party.

“We can't win the House back with progressives running in swing states,” said former Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-Calif.), a surrogate for Hillary Clinton
who is leading the “Fight Back California” super PAC aimed at winning back seven House seats in the Golden State.

Interviews with Democratic strategists, donors and organizers from across the country reveal deep disagreement with Warren’s premise that progressives make up the “heart and soul” of the Democratic Party.

The Democrats who disagree with Warren are generally from the center of the party, and many were staunch supporters of former President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The clash is further proof of the divide in the party after 2016’s disappointment. Even as they face a Republican Party torn over how to deal with President Trump, Democrats are still trying to figure out what kind of a party they are.

They better watch out, if they are "pushing" then she's gonna squeal like a wounded Leporidaen snowflake about the threat of violence against her...

The victim card.

Centrist Dems push back on Warren cause they are BIGOTS n SEXIST n AGEIST

That's true!

They aren't pulling down monuments celebrating the subjection of the native population...

:(

And she is old and rumored to be of the female sex, but I think she is probably gender confused just as she is confused enough to identify as native.

No one knows the victim card or plays it quite as much you.

But it's good to see you posting about something you actually know about.

Let me try my hand at this cherry pickin' thing.....

...Reached for comment, Kristen Orthman, Warren’s spokeswoman, pointed to a passage further down in the senator’s remarks that spoke more to inclusiveness among both sides of the party.

"If we’re going to be the people who lead the Democratic Party back from the wilderness and lead our country out of this dark time, then we can’t waste energy arguing about whose issue matters most or who in our alliance should be voted off the island,” Warren said at the conference. “We need to see each other’s fights as our own. And I believe we can.”

Brad Bannon, a Democratic strategist, defended Warren, saying she’s right about progressives being at the epicenter of the party...

...“She definitely will inherit the Sanders vote,” Bannon predicted. “And I think a candidate who is willing to speak their mind and talk like Warren does has a better chance than a centrist who is calculating about everything he or she says. I don't think the electorate wants someone calculating. … They had cool and calculating with Hillary Clinton.”...

...A Gallup poll out this week showed that more than 6 in 10 liberal respondents have favorable views of Warren...

Clit'nites need to get the hell out of the way. They are how we ended up with the Orange Terror.

I enjoy watching the Democrats civil war.

Civil war has broken out inside the Democratic party. Does the future belong to the populist left or the centrists?
Like the Gups, the Dums have never been a monolithic group, only a patchwork of factions, mostly barely tolerating each other. Both wings of the DemoGop duopoly host corporate / globalist, nativist / identity, religious / social, futurist / environmental, and other ideological factions. Gups have been civil-warring for decades now. Dums are catching up.

What *is*: Both wings of the DemoGop duopoly possess vast infrastructures -- offices, incumbents, local committees and clubs, fund-raising specialists, volunteers, databases, consultants, and money. No matter what happens to the parties (incorporated as private firms in Delaware) they'll hang on to their goodies.

What *could be*: The duopoly could realign into globalist vs localist wings -- but I doubt it. As long as money is speech, corporate cash will dominate USA politics. Gups and Dums could both shatter as parties -- but I doubt it. Insiders ain't gonna let go. Or the parties could purge their extreme factions. Yeah sure.

Of course all this is moot if Tromp starts a war anytime soon.

War is bad for business.

Projecting strength and resolve prevents war.

Don't assume the latter means that there is a desire for war.

Also keep in mind, that when the Democrats held the Administration, they instigated several wars in the Middle east.

You see, they really gave fuck-all about business and the economy and there is a large segment of the Democrat Party that is openly hostile to business.

Pocohantas and Maxine! What a great ticket.

Winner, winner chicken dinner for ya all. Lol.

Both parties should fracture and fragment.

The majority of both could combine to be the Corporate Party. This would include the Clinton wing of the Dems, as well as all but the TEA Party wing of the Pubs.

The populist groups who were pissed off at Washington, but know that the secret to fixing the problems that we got by following Reagan's voodoo economic ideas for thirty five years IS NOT to follow Reagan's voodoo economic idea some more, can generally form a Progressive Party.

There are definitely fewer politicians who would be in the Progressive Party at first. But I'll guarantee that party would get the most votes.
