Does anyone know where to get ceiling tins? The type found in Irish pubs and such? I can't seem to locate any.

Edit: I've found individual ones on eBay, but I'm looking for new ones, not old ones. I want to install some on my ceiling, so I need a continuous pattern, not a batch of mismatched ones.

Have you looked around for dealers online? I don't know of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure some of the upscale building supply places (what an odd combination...upscale and building supplies) would know a vendor to order from?

When I do internet searches, I only find sites that offer industrial ceiling tiles - the acoustic bland version. I've struck out, so I was turning to the Gen Pop o' Lit.

I used google, safe search turned off. "ceiling tins"

Ebay may have some of their users that have a store set up.

Try yahoo stores and possibility msn stores.

Here's one in Houston. I'm not sure if you'd prefer to shop in-state or not.

They have purdy stuffs! (i'll see if I can think of or find more links without duplicating what's already been posted, too.)

I'll keep my hands and body fluids to myself unless told differently.

Well you're officially loved back! *grins*

There's also a ton of places that do "tin looking" tiles made from different polymers. it might be worth thinking about for insulation purposes...I can only imagine that in would retain heat something awful!

my search term, btw, was "tin ceiling tiles"

If you want to paint the tin, for any reason... you can prime it with shellac, and then paint on top of that with a glaze (tint or something ) in a water based polycrylic. Give a yell if you want to know more, I can ask my friend what her process was. We painted it flat on sawhorses, the darker color puddled nicely in the hollows and indentations.

you can also search on "metal ceiling" and "aluminum ceiling tiles". I tried it and got a lot of good links.

Years ago, I bought some tin ceilings tiles from a company in Blanchard, Louisiana that made them. They had been in business since the tin tiles were originally in style. The business was really starting to boom again. I'm guessing they are still there. They made some good stuff.
