A few bumps initially with a large improvement in America's intermediate and long-term fiscal outlook. This includes billions for increased border security which their research says would reduce border crossings by 25%.

I really like how Senator Jefferson Davis Sessions of Alabama ended up with egg on his face....the CBO typically does projections 10 years out. Since the numbers looked favorable towards the Obama administration, Sessions whined like a sissy Vettebigot and demanded a twenty year projection.

Be careful what you ask for!

As Gomer Pyle used to say...."Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!"....the projected numbers look even better over a 20 year span than they do over a ten year span.

Good news for America, bad news for the Vettebigot/Busybody contingent.

What a bunch of crap. Go back and read the last two immigration bills, they promised the moon too, we didn't get the border security they promised either.

When your posts amount to saying just "bullshit", you've lost.

the cbo's credibility, at least with me, is extremely low in light of their initial claims of a beautiful result for a given subject, subsequently followed by their revisions and re-revisions with far less attractive numbers later down the road.

i understand economics is a rather fluid entity and impossible to predict with perfect accuracy, but their predictions haven't exactly been stellar.

"However, because S. 744 would significantly increase the size of the U.S. labor force, assuming that total employment was unchanged would imply that any employment of the additional immigrants would be offset one-for-one by lower employment elsewhere in the population. Because that outcome would be highly implausible, CBO and JCT relaxed the assumption of fixed GDP and employment and incorporated into the cost estimate their projections of the legislation’s direct effects on the U.S. population, employment, and taxable compensation. Nevertheless, to remain as consistent as possible with the estimating rules CBO and JCT follow for almost all other legislation, the cost estimate for S. 744 does not incorporate the budgetary impact of every economic consequence of the bill. That cost estimate reflects some, but not all, of the effects that S. 744 would have on the economy."

Even if they're off by a staggering one trillion dollars it still won't add to the deficit.

If you want to look at the CBO's track record, fair enough. But then you need to include all the times they're over-estimated cost projections in the past, usually around health care which touches immigration a great deal via Medicaid. The CBO has a track record of over-estimating utilization of health benefits including Medicare, Medicare Part-D, and Medicaid. In fact they were WAY over on Medicare Part-D.

MERC makes the TEN BULLET FALLACY.

If the CBO projects that youll die from a spray of ten bullets, and nine does the job or one, people like Merc laud the outcome as a benefit to you. IT COULDA BEEN A LOT WORSE, Merc crows.

Some things are so illogical, so groundless, so self serving, so wrong, that's all they deserve.

Kind of like all the racist shit you post?

Face it the GOP is the party of racists. Good luck hitching your wagon to that.

Asking for border security is a joke. The majority come here legally.

Preposterous to think CBO has such predictive capability.

Nor is the CBO "nonpartisan" (as Obamacare underscored); like everything in town, it is affected by political winds.

You mean like your Obama India trip thread?

Vette has been on an epic fail kick lately. Almost feel sorry for him.
I took a glance at his posts, he was on here at 11pm his time and then again around 4am. That's sad even for a hardcore Litster.

Maybe e could sleep with his nightmares of Hillary being president in a few years. It's a legit fear for a man of his age.

And for the rest of us, I don't think I have the stamina to go through eight more years of sheer hate for the sake of hate.

Homeboy once was on here derping from the early morning until early afternoon. Getting his ass served to him in a thread as usual, said he had to go wash his car and have brunch with friends. Broke out.

Came back to the thread to post anew inside of thirty minutes later. I'll give you maybe the quickie car wash in that amount of time if it's three blocks down the street from where you live, but how the fuck you gonna sit down in a restaurant with "friends" to gulp down a meal and then rush back just to save the ass-face you were losing online? What probably happened was that it was raining and he drove to the nearest Jack-In-The-Box for a drive-thru window #4 combo experience.

Sorry, that's some bonafide pressed bitch shit right there.

What on Earth are you talking about? A bill that will reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars is not a gun, it is a bag of gold.

Gold buys guns. However JamesBracist is making the bullets kill fallacy. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Herp a derp!
