Categories I avoid:

Interracial - see my prior post. Every story I write has erotic elements across ethnic lines. But I don't make it a racist fetish so my stories are the polar opposite of that category.

Gay Male and Trans - I just have no boats in those waters. I wouldn't make a very believable story if I tried, it would end up either a poor read or fetishization.

Incest - I have an extremely negative view of this genre. For me, it makes no sense as something to find appealing. Furthermore I don't like "forbidden things" solely for being forbidden or I'd be turned on by human cloning or going through any door marked "employees only" in a local cement supplies shop.

Anal - I can't write stories so small in scope that I could describe them by a single scene sex act. To me this is a tag, not a category. It also happens to be a tag I find no appeal in.

Loving Wives - I have no desire to entire that warzone. I also feel the category's name is the exact opposite of what the stories are themed to, so I find the category illogical.

BDSM - A strong turn off for me. I'm into "hardcore equality" to the point that even fantasizing about unequal dynanmics 'squicks' me.

Mind Control - this is just 'rape genre' by another name so hard pass.

NonConsent/Reluctance- this is just 'rape genre' by another name so hard pass.

A lot of people fantasize about 'erotic / sexual' things they would never want to happen in 'real life', but I don't. Which might sound weird coming from someone who's favorite themes involve naked aliens and magical people. But it is what it is. I fantasize constantly about things that could never happen (my head is so noisy with it sometimes I can't think straight), but not about 'sexual / erotic' things I'd never want to happen (however outside of the erotic angle I DO fantasize about dystopian worlds / settings all the time and I'd never want to live in another one - the one we're all in is enough). So these 'just a fetish fantasy' genres fall extremely flat for me.


Erotic Horror - I'm not sure what they mean by this category so I doubt I'd ever submit something to it. I don't like the horror genre in movies if we're talking anything modern. Classic vampire movies I was fine with, but as soon as we got 'slasher / gore' flicks I was out. Or those ones with someone who tilts their head while the camera does weird flickering as it that was supposed to scare me... The difference here is that "back in the day" there was a deep story as the means of horror. But then it became about special effects and gore. I could see myself doing an old style horror - but that would really just be 'Fantasy / Sci-Fi'...

Audio - Nope. To do that right would be too high budget for me. To do it wrong would not be something I'd be willing to do.

Illustrated Probably not for the same reasons as Audio.

I have been writing across categories just for the sake of it, 15 so far, though I don’t know if I’ll ever do all of them. I’ve found 750 word stories useful for the small categories that are not really interesting to me, like the Non-Human I did last.

I think that if I had to come up with one term to describe all my stories, it would be “pro consent”, so I guess non-con is the one that is farthest out of my reach. Never say never though, I might be able to do something with reluctance or dubious consent. Not in a hurry to try, I still have many I haven’t written in.

It's a special call out for not inter racial sexual relations, but racist tropes. Historically the "interracial" category is all about bestial 'mandingo' black men abusing naughty but innocent white women - and related themes. And this goes beyond this website.

Of course, DNA now proves what people having been saying for 500 years - the facts are the reverse. Almost all Black people in the USA are about 25% English-Ancestry, coming from male descended DNA - English-Ancestry men on Black women. Almost all Caucasians in the USA are 1% African, coming from female descended DNA - again Black women who's children were light skinned enough to be able to 'pass'. A similar pattern likely exists in regards to Native Americans - though the DNA there hasn't been traced to my knowledge.

That category is about as "toxic" as you can get. It's hard to even mention what the category is about without going into some very negative space...

Some people I suspect might write multiracial stories and put them in "on accident". But if you're not making a racist fetish, then there's not even a point to... making a point of... erotic action across ethnic lines. It's just normal.

I'm approaching my stories from a genre angle. It's (usually) a Fantasy story, but with sex. Or a Sci-Fi story with butt sex.

I don't see the appeal of Interracial. How does skin color or nationality improve sex? And don't start with "lusting after a black person is soooooo taboo". For a country which boasts to treat everyone equally, the US is still shockingly racist. Reading such an observation made by a blind German HAS to sting. I mean, by the time we started to clean up the Nazi mess, you were still forcing people of color to sit in the back of the bus or use second-class public restrooms. And lets not talk about not letting them attend the same centers of education white people went to. How is systematic oppression any better than what my ancestors did? Especially when it still happens? Pulling black people over just because they drive a nice car, putting them through the wringer on trumped-up drug trafficking charges?

Okay, got sidetracked there. Another one I'll stay away from is Loving Wives. Again, I don't see the appeal of the kinks featured there. And we all know what kind of minefield that particular quagmire (giggety?) is. I'm kinda proud of the numbers my particular brand of smut pulls in and I don't need LW's vitriol spill into my other stories.

No poetry from me. I started to write in English to get away from the more flowery side of German erotica and poetry is all about being metaphorical and flowery. Also, as a former forced-into-the-role lyricist for two bands I know that I can barely rhyme my way out of a pastry bag.

We still treat POC abysmally. It’s so sad. Feels like Obama was an aberration, not a leap forward.

I agree with all this, but it seems we have reached the point where it is clear the topic is too touchy for such a line of reasoning to convince the other side. So I am just going to agree to disagree with them.

Things reach a certain point where everyone's said their piece, and nobody's convincing anyone else, so it's time to move on. Perhaps so in this case.

For starters, we're not having nearly as many gun-related deaths per year as the US has each month. Maybe allowing any nutjob to buy a piece might be a bad idea after all.

Are there scientific studies on how gun ownership has markedly reduced the rate of home invasions and burglaries vs. the number of accidental and not so accidental killings? That's the #1 reason why pro-gun people resisting any form of control - "I needs three shotguns and my AR-15 to defend my home from all them gangsters trying to rob me money and rape me family!""

I might get mugged if I walk into the wrong part of town and piss off the wrong people, but the chances to gunned down for any reason are practically nil.

Quality issue.

I can spin out a lot of AI Art but it's not consistent enough at a high enough quality level for me to want to make use of it in stories.

I do have an extensive library of 3D art tools based in the 'Daz3D' community where you take models, props, and light effects and pose them - but I get so obsessed with getting it perfect that images there take me days to make a single shot.

Likewise, I used to draw art by hand, but it's been decades so... the skills have atrophied.

Well... you're just seeing what makes it to the news. If we looked at totals outside of active war zones no one has the death totals in a year that the USA has in a day. However once you adjust for population per capita - we're still bad but not as extreme as raw totals imply.

Most studied on gun ownership show that owning a gun dramatically increases your odds of being injured or killed by a gun. Keep in mind that training in it is not required, and even people who do get trained don't do so to anywhere near the level of diligence that your average active duty military personal does. And if there's one in your home - everyone with access to the home needs that level of training.

When I was in the military, I had to learn how to take apart, clean, and put together an M-16 over and over again, how to check to be sure it's not loaded, how to rapidly load and unload it, how to store it, and so on... and I was not even in a combat related job field. Yet I or anyone else within a few miles of me can walk to a nearby shop here and walk out with a loaded AR-15 that I have no clue how to use, let alone safely wear without accidentally shooting someone...

Much of what stops me is that I have had the training to know what it is I need to know before I can use one safely, so I am aware of what knowledge I lack.

Even several of the pro-gun people I know don't keep guns in their homes.

While for example - its sort of true that essentially everyone in Switzerland and Israel "has" a gun - I'm told they don't have them lying in the back seat of their pickup truck in between where their kids are sitting - but either in official armories of some kind or else stored somewhere.

Saltwater crocs though, they're doing well for food, recently. The warning signs are in English, German, and Japanese, but your croc can't read, so won't discriminate.

Well... If you're in the Southwest or rural Southern and Central California - we can have a conversation about snakes being essentially everywhere.

People who see images of San Francisco fog or LA beaches often don't realize that the entire place is basically a desert and there's a thin line of hills along the coast giving you a couple of miles of green between the ocean and those hills. Often thin enough to walk the distance. A hundred years ago the other side was a massive swamp in the central valley surrounded by desert, but they drained the swamp in the late 1800s and irrigated it. However all that land is now full of snakes, coyotes, racoons, and thank you Hollywood: a few random camels.
