Yeah, there was something special about those years wasn't there? But then again, I bet you're glad you don't have those huge shoulder pads that were all the rage. lol

I do buy cd's every now and again, but usually at concerts so the band gets most of the money. But even when I do buy them, I rip them immediately and store the cd someplace. Remember album art and liner notes?

I am so glad I didn't do shoulder pads... what the hell was that all about! LOL

I agree... so much better if the band can get as much of the proceeds as possible. I haven't been to a show in ages. I might still have some hearing loss from the last one I did go to though... Some crazy concoction of Mastadon (not my first choice of seeing) Deftones and Alice in Chains... which pretty much rocked my socks off. I like a little bit of everything musically. I'd be just as happy in a little coffee shop with and acoustic performer as a big arena- they all have their good and bad.

I still remember the big hubbub about Guns and Roses Appetite for Destruction liner, one of my teachers flipped out because a classmate had it in school.
but always... listening through at least once reading the lyrics along with the song.

If I'm not mistaken... it'd be a little warmer where you are, than where I was at the time. That would not have been a bad thing at all. not at all.
