Cat

Oh blackwolf, thank you, thank you, thank you. They have had me in fits of giggles. I have to pass them on to the teen, she will sob :D

ROFL hee! I saw my Harry doing this in the herb garden yesterday - I'd love to see his reaction to snow!!

Oh, they are *SO* funny in the snow - especially the first time they encounter it. I have a little guy - Miko - who is about six months old now, and today, he got his first experience with it. I think I'm going to rename him "Roo" from the Winnie the Pooh stories - Kanga and Roo?? I brought him outside, and put him down. He stood there for at least two minutes, motionless, looking around at this white stuff on the ground. He then began to hop from place to place - almost as though he was afraid to try to walk in it. But every time he came back down, little puffs of snow flew up and startled him, so he'd hop right away, just to keep repeating it over and over. I suppose it didn't help that we've got about six inches of snow on the ground, so that every time he came down, he was half buried in the stuff. I only wish I'd thought to get some pictures...

He started to look panicked, so I picked him up and brought him back inside. A little while later, I decided to see if he'd like to go back out again. As soon as I opened the door, he took off like a shot down the hall and out of sight. No way was he going to go back into the snow willingly...

Oh, there *is* one thing about this season that he's taken a strong liking to: The Christmas tree. It's come down twice now. I finally positioned it so that it was in a corner, and tied it to both walls. He likes that even better, I think. Several times, I've caught him climbing it, trying to knock various ornaments off to play with...

The joys of cat companionship... :D

I don't know who's making these little captioned pics, but I've seen them at a couple of sites. They're amazingly funny...

I still want to know what that scrawny little thing sitting on the hard drive *really* is, though... Is that thing *really* a cat???

He sounds like a bundle of trouble, madness and love all rolled into one. Don't you just love cats!! :D  :D

I agree, they are so funny and some of the looks on the kitties faces are priceless.

I shall go check that one out again *scrolls up page*.

Yep, funny little thing that one, has someone back combed all his fur or maybe just photoshopped him????

new ones

like as if i didnt have enough to have 9 cats, i now have two kittens about 6-8 weeks old living with us. not sure if they are here to stay or not yet. i did do the bad thing of naming them. one is talladega and the other im calling vegas, for now. two of my favorite nascar tracks. they join, toffee, betty, bristol (after another track), patches, boots, tiny, romeo and juliet, along with saphira. here is a pic taken friday before last when they first joined us after being rescued from the cold outside.

i work with a animal haven called heaven can wait, its a no kill shelter and they provide free or low cost spaying and neutering for stray cats so that they ont breed millions of unwanted and unfed animals. as luck would have it, we trapped two grey tabbys and had them given shots and fixed. when we went to pick them up for release, the vet said oh and this one is lactating. we said what?? we trapped these at our house, we havent heard any kittens. so we rushed home and looked all around our house when my husband looked under a pile of boards holding up our side gate. sure enough, these two little angels were huddled together. they have blue eyes, gorgeous striping and are so rambunctious in the week they've been inside. they definately have imprinted on me. they favor me over anyone in the house. i tend to wear sweatshirts inside the house now because they love to cuddle up on my boobs and sleep after they've eaten.

Something tells me you don't have much chance of that in Oz lol :D :D

It does snow about 40 miles from here - much higher ground - a couple of times a year.

I haven't put my Christmas tree up yet. The less time Randall the Vandall has with it the better! He gained "the vandal" handle several years ago when he systematically destroyed a Christmas tree one year - he climbed it, he knocked it over, he batted the ornaments off it - his final effort was to launch himself into it from the back of the couch.
And I don't want him teaching Harry and Billy bad habits.

Oh god! I just realised! This is Harry and Billy's first Christmas - and Harry's a complete nutter, the tree is doomed!

Wow, what a wonderful thread!! I'm a cat lover myself, but it's been a lot of years since I had one. Well, two actually. Garfield (orange stripe) and Zebulin, or Zeb, Zebby (gray stripe). Brothers from the same litter and a big handful at times. Their favorite play place was under a lamp table. They'd get to rough housing, and the table would sway one direction with the lamp swaying the other :D God, I miss those two.

Right now, I'm dead set on a Bengal. Just need the job for the coin to get one. I may go the adoption route though. Too many good cats in need of good, loving homes. Love the links from icanhascheezburger.com Reminds me, haven't been there in far too long
