Cat

I've just been looking at the lovely pics of Elsie. Suzi and Jimmy. It's heartbreaking when they go and only other animal lovers seem to understand. There is no such thing as 'just a cat' they love us unconditionally and all have their own personalities. My heart goes out to Elsie's family (give her daughter a cuddle from me) and Suzi and Jimmy's family.
My oldest girl is 12 today, she is a Birman and has a heart murmur so I worry about her. The vet said she is fine and she's on preventative meds just to make sure it doesn't get worse. My youngest 2 are 2 today, strange they were born on the same day.

Thank you Jasmine, I shall give Grummie a cuddle later. She has just come in from the rain so I think I might just leave her awhile :D ;) ;)

Everything you have said is so very true and I wish you all the best with your three (or are there more in between??).

I am also sorry to read of your losses. I just followed a link from another thread, and have added it as a favorite thread. Cats are wonderful friends, better than ex-wives IMO. I've got two now; had six before the split, and miss the others. Cats that is ...

Thank you  Not so sure about ex-wives, being one of course but I would definately have a cat over my ex-husband any day :D :D

I have 6, had 3 when I moved in, then the cat from 3 doors away moved in, then someone needed a home for 2 kittens. I'll post more pics sometime, here's an older one of me with my Birman girl.

This is just a typical evening on the desk of BW:

Ya just gotta love kitties... Oh, and please excuse the mess - I'm usually far neater than this...

ETA: BTW - That's Carlos on the left, and Ariel on the right...

That is funny BlackWolf :D :D And you are right, they are lovely

I am not sure I believe you about the neatness though, I think you are fibbing. Thats the advantage of having a laptop computer, I have to keep the "desk" tidy otherwise everything would fall off when I stand up :D :D :D

I'll have you know that I have this really bad OCD thing going on about neatness. I make Felix Unger look like a complete slob - and if you don't believe me, just ask my kids - they'd be *HAPPY* to tell war stories about me when they were growing up...

I don't that I'll be inviting you over then ... don't want to hear you honking like Felix ... but your cats would be more than welcome here. I agree, they are beautiful cats. And they don't seem to be too bothered by your neat-freakishness. :)

Okay... You may remember that my herd of cats has a recent addition, Miko the Kitten. Miko is a bundle of energy, and up until this afternoon, the worst he's done has been to attempt to body-slam me by jumping up and wrapping his legs around my leg when I walk by him. But he has now graduated to the point of needing to be disciplined...

In front of one window in the house there is a set of shelves. They were placed there specifically so the cats have a nice place to lay and look out the window at all the cute, tasty looking birdies in the tree right outside. The shelf above the one for the cats has a HUGE planter on it, with an old, very lush houseplant in it.

Miko somehow found a way up on to this shelf. And he was overjoyed!! I imagine his thought process going something like this:

"What's this?? Another shelf I can sit on?? Yep - looks like it. Oh!!! And there's a pretty plant on this one!! Plant? Hmmm... Oh, my, there's dirt in it, too!! Nice, *soft* dirt. Oh, BW, you didn't have to do this for me!! You're so good to me!! Another litter box, and it's filled with nice soft *real* dirt!! And you even decorated it with a plant for me!! I think I'm going to break it in right now..."

Unfortuantely, I didn't catch him in the act, so I couldn't discipline him for this offense. I only noticed it when I walked past the plant, and got a whiff of what he'd left behind...

Ya gotta love these furry little critters...

I guess she's found a hobby. I'm just thankful I'm not the hobby.

This isn't a picture of my cat, but it could be. I have one that looks exactly like this, which is why I put it there. It made me smile.
