casting call for cops with a differance

This is my first time at trying to run something like this so go gentle with me ....PLEASE!

What i am wanting to do is run a cop based game with a differance. The main differance being that ,appart from being cops, all the members who join in will be charecters from the White Wolf system of rpg. E.g vampires, werewolves, mages and the such.
If you are interested let me know and once i have a few of you onboard i will start in earnest .
To give you an idea of what I am trying to do think of a special team put together by the government who through years of covert assosiation with the different nonhuman sections of society have decided that now, in theses ever more troubled times, is the time to call upon the help of those factions to form a core group of special investigators to cove an ever increasing supernatural presance in our world. only the very top brass will know anything about us other than that we are loosely associated to the police but autonomus from them.
we will need people from all branches of the police from Csi/pathologist types to S.W.A.T types as well as those of a more cerebal persuasion . If you have an idea for a charecter or hints on how i should go about things please let me know.

You may want to be a little more clearer. Is this something under the FBI in that its Law Enforcement oriented agaisnt crime, or Inteligence oriented so that the USA knows whats happening, or Military oriented, so that people who need to die...die.

I would be rather intrested in knowing how you are planning on controling Kindred, Cams and Sabbat, not to mention independants, Mages of the Traditions and Technocracy, Lupines, Faye, Wraiths and others.

Are you planning this as a rouge game? Something were the players would NOT be elders, such as Kindred, Mages, Lupines and others that were Law Enforcement or Inteligence or Military before something happened and they found themselves in the World Of Darkness?

I doubt any elder would be intrested in helping a new little country (as they see the USA) enforce its petty little laws that the Humans think they made (because the elders know they or their rivals had a hand in making those laws to benifit themselves).

Could younger characters fight the elders? I think yes, because something 1500 years old may have resources, magic, and be powerful in a fight, a computer with access, a science lab and something belt-fed will go a long way toward evening the odds, especialy if the characters don't really need to worry about being caught...

I'd be intrested in playing if I can be a WWII era OSS agent turned Lasombra with a taste for Diablerie

Answering some of your questions (i hope)

Ok here goes .
The original idea was just to have Garou characters who in their normal lives would have worked for the police but, in retrospect, i decided against limiting it too much as i know many people out there prefer playing Vampires to werewolves. As to how i am going to controll all the different possible factions. Easy (not). I am intending to keep the P.C's to vamp , mage , and garou (as these are the ones i know best ).
So as i was saying , The setting is modern day london and for what ever reason that the players want to come up with, they are all working for one already existing branch of the police or another when they are aproached by a member of CI6 ( the british equivalent of the FBI) Who introduces himself as D.I. Culain and then procedes to inform you that he knows what you are and what you are capable of and asks if you would be willing to join a special unit being put together to investigate, apprehend, and if needed terminate those who are putting the Veil/ masqurade in jepardy as well as countering a threat from a shadow organization calling itself Pentex . This organization has ties with international terrorism as well as big buisines from around the world but what their long term goals are at this moment is unknown. (one bonus to this is the fact that if something is getting a little stale i can always move you to a new setting somewhere else on the globe with new sets of problems for you to over come) Like interpol you have jurisdiction in many countries around the world and like interpol you can be of any nationallity you want as long as you keep to the rules. E.g:If you are playing a lupine of Native American origin it would be very unlikely that you would be of the Fianna tribe but you could be a member of the Wendigo tribe ( i am allowed a little artistic licence after all)

I would like to Keep the age range down to a maximum of 250 - 300 years ( so your idea for a lasombran who was an OSS officer in WW11 is fine Mr Dark Attourney) and this means that the only Eldars in this game will be NPC's run by yours truly. If i didnt do it this way it could get abused and we would end up with nine or ten 2,000 year olds walking about out of my controll and i ain't about to let that happen

If i haven't answered all your questions i apologise and i will post again when i get back from work tomorrow and hope fully clear up any lose threads .

Remember This is a first for me so if i start a little rocky please be patient

I'd pull that in tighter, to a max of about 100 years, to just before WWI. From that age you would likely have Military and Police Officers with some semblance of the modern era, and a feeling of belonging to something greater than themselves.

Go back further, and you run into more provincial attitudes, were aliegance to one's state, imigrant group or clan would be more powerful.

Someone 250 years old would have little use for today's conventions of morality and respect for the law, someone who was kicking around in 1798 would be pretty well established in the underworld and would laugh at the idea of aiding the government in keeping the status quo.

Someone who was an officer in the British Inteligence service in the 30's embraced in europe would likely be more accepting of the idea of going back to his boss, telling him "oh shit, look what happened to me.... think I can use this against the Nazis to help the empire?" than someone to who a 6 year war is just something they can sleep through, as they have seen about a century or more.

Your comments and ideas Mr Dark Attourney have been very usefull and i will keep them in mind for future use .

Unfortunatly i find myself unable to go ahead with this thread due to a new work contract that will keep me moveing around the country almost constantly for the next few months.

Sorry if this dissapoints you, but as you can guess, it doesn't enthrall me either.
I hope that if i get chance to start a thread again in the future you will give it a try.

I am on board if.....

Well I hear some good ideas and I know White Wolf pretty well. At least the story and state of the alternative world. Not to familiar with Law Enforcement in England but what you are talking about seems more like something run by the military. I always had fun running games based in the states but this is your game. Also there is rich history of secret societies in the U.K. both real and imagined. May want to think about them. I would like for a character not your ususal fair. A former police officer who was employed by a vampire for a time. A Henchmen type go for sandwichs, go for blood, go kill those annoying goths outside....lol


Could run a Floor 13 type unit. A group put together by law enforcement or the political machine in power. Ex government employees, freelance, private security people. Doing dirties in a less then legal fashion. The unit never really exists only a note in a ledge or a block of offices nobody knows much about. That kind of organization would fit in well in a white wolf world. Let me know what you think though. I have million characters that can fit into white wolf.
