Not earth shattering news, but just a small alert about an asshole e-company.

Cardwish will send you an e-mail saying you got an e-card. (I've never received an e-card that didn't tell me who sent it, but on the off chance that this one was different, I clicked on the link.) It then prompts you to enter some basic demographic information in exchange for a donation of two cents to a charity of your choice. I opted not to donate, and proceeded to the e-card. Amazingly, I could not access the card because Cardwish said it either contained offensive material or was spam. Funny how that information was not discovered until after they asked for my information.

I hate spam mail. Grr.

Got the same thing Mis.

Don't you just hate having your time wasted.
<Time that could have been spent on the Lit. boards!>

I remember getting one of these a few months back and going through the card retrieval process. I think the message I had said the sender had violated their membership rules or some foolish thing. I didn't have an increase in spam though, which was rather funny.

I got the same thing. It said the sender violated rules by spamming.

I fucking hate spam too, especially when they are sneaky about it.

Frankly, I don't really get the whole ecards thing anyway. I'd much rather get a nice note from a friend than some stupid graphic.

I've noticed this about cardwish. Now I get spammed by them repeatedly. They just happened to send me the first email a week after my Nana died, so I thought it might be something interesting.

Myst - I know it was probably a coincidence, but they really should be more sensitive. Bloody corned beef! oops, I mean spam.

This reminds me of that "Secret crush" scam a while back, they would send you a message to say that someone had a secret crush on you and all you had to do was type in their Email addy and if it matched the senders Email addy then they would tell you.

You got five chances to guess the sender and type in their Email details......it just screamed "scam scam scam" to me.

Watch yourselves out their kid's.
