Played several rounds of Boo-Ray last night after Christmas dinner and had a blast. We wanted to get "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" game and play that but we didn't get 'round to pickin' it up.

Do y'all play games at Christmas or work puzzles?

Traditionally in our family, we'd start a mega-puzzle around 2 weeks before Christmas and try to have it finished b4 dinner had to be on the table. It brought us together as a family and generated a lot of "table talk"

Yeah

The fantasy goddess kicked my ass in two games of Scrabble the other night. Love the board games. Too much fun.

We like to play Jenga after many drinks and see how long it takes to drop the pile!!!!!

We play spades a lot, I personally hate the game, but it makes everyone else happy, so I indulge them.

We used to play boo-ray...

We played who wants to be a millionaire the other night. And of course we like scrabble.

My family are football fanatics- and my mom is one of the most notorious (I can remember as a little boy hearing her go off... "Damnation!" "Shit! That makes me so mad..." heheh This is so funny to me because my mother is a quite tame and genteel southern lady who goes to church every sunday and holy days too... The big saying at my parents house is "So what time does the game start?"

My dad went to LSU. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of the whole family listening to LSU football games on the radio. We are all together... I'll never foget this one time when they lost... my brother... he must have been 13 years old... well, they lost and he was eating a hamburger... My mother was so pissed... they had to repaint the wall that he threw it on...

We had some pretty good monoply games, but my brother always cheated- true capitalist if I ever saw one... :)

Yea me too, I have never heard of it.......maybe it is a game I am familiar with but re incarnated with a different name or something.......

I played Scrabble with Mom and the Man. And came in last.
So we played again, and I lost again.
Play again, lost again.
We played fourteen games and the highest score I got from any one game was 109. When game fifteen rolled around, I got tired of having my face rubbed in my own stupidity and refused to play.
Now both of them are mad at me because I'm going immature and ruining the family time.
People may says it not about winning or loosing but they're lying; we've had this game for three years now and I haven't won once. Frankly, I'll never play another damn game.

So, I'm sulking in my room on the internet.

Why can't we play Monopoly? I love Monopoly.

We used to play Scrabble for hours on end, but I always win, so no one will play with me anymore. Justin & I used to play Uno with his friends & I suck at it-the kids used to beat me bad!! When I am with my sisters, we dig out the puzzles that we had when we were kids & sit down with our kids & put them together. Today, we spent a nice day with some friends. Will spend New Years at home, playing cards.

My Favorite

is Clue! I get to be Col Mustard... fun game of deduction. We'll spend New Year's Eve playing board games at a friend' house.

I bought the Disney Charades game for my friends for Christmas, so of course we had to open that up and play it. Sis got the Millionaire game for Xmas, but I haven't played it yet.

I'm a casino dealer, so I think I'd like to play a board game that doesn't involve playing cards, for a change. :) Although I do love a good game of euchre.

Let's guess..
I think it is a southern game where they tell tales about different things that happened through the year and whosever is the dumbest they yell..
boooo...ray! at...
maybe Ray was the original bad storyteller...
give me a break... I am just getting to the caffeine.

boo-ray

Is a card game best played with 4-5 people. The dealer deals 5 cards to all players but turns the last card dealt (to himself) face up and that becomes the trump suit. Ante up and then those players choose to be in or out (yin/yout?) those who play must at least win 1 trick, if not they are "booed" and must match the pot. It is a little more complicated but that's the jist.

I stayed away from Scrabble. I'm normally not very good. Members of my family get violent while playing it. hehe. We are a very competitive family.

Thanks, I kin understand stayin' 'way from games that wat ya ta spell sumptin. Think that I stay away from boo-ray, too ... is thar a strip version?

Sam?

do you have trouble spelling words? That's a shame. Spelling isn't a problem for me, it is actually trying to come up with the obscure 2-3 letter words in order to get rid of all your letters. My mother is famous for winning that way.

Want to do a strip version of boo-ray? Have at it big boy.

Yep, I have 3 dictionarys on my desk now. I would be willing to learn strip boo-ray. Any teachers?
