He accepted her apology, and she thought she was making progress. Perhaps if she could just lull him into a false sense of security, an opportunity would open up, and she could escape.
Her heart sank as she saw teh rope, and she began to panic as he put it around her neck.
"Please don't pull against it, you will choke if you do."
She was afraid to move. Oh God, what was he doing???
He began to undo her manacles, and she was hopeful that he might allow her to stand up, to get off of the wet, soggy ground, and that was something to be welcomed.
"Roll over onto your hands and knees. Until you have earned the privilege to stand, you will crawl. Understand?"
Okay.... at least it would allow her to move her limbs, to work out the aches and pains, and she had to take what she could get. But did he really expect her to crawl around on a choke chain, like an animal???
Answering his question she looked at him. "Yes, I understand." after a pause, she added "Thank you" hoping that she might have now earned the privilage to walk.
She looked up... he did. Being careful to not move her neck in any way, she stretched her back, her hips clicking with stiffness. She flexed her shoulders, and it felt good to stretch. She looked up at him, wondering what he intended.
