Captcha and moderation on comments

I’ve had my comments on stories post immediately for as long as I can recall.

Now I get a Captcha and my comments moderated - even when replying to a comment on my own story?

What is going on?

There's a glitch that makes you comment as "Anonymous", even if you're logged in. And as Anonymous, your comments get moderated. Not sure when the Captcha was introduced though, but it seems to be linked to anonymous commenting.

The workaround is to switch to Classic view. You'll be able to comment under your logged-in username, with the usual privilege of having your comment posted immediately.

I don't get captcha, but I do get moderated. My comment (on my own story) finally shows up a day or two later under my name, not 'Anonymous'.

Strange variations in behavior. Bugs in the beta still to be worked out.

I figured out just now before reading this. You can’t make this stuff up.

If you are a good girl or boy, you get on a whitelist that allows your comments to be published immediately. I’ve been on it for years, until recently.

I suspect you're still on the whitelist. It's just that it seems impossible to comment under our usernames in the new and improved mobile-friendly view. I can still comment without moderation in Classic view.

I shall try and see. I have not been here for very long so I may still be on the 'needs extra support' list for commenting.

LOL I've never switched from the Classic view and no problems,
