Football everywhere, it's scary. I can't even use my usual tactic of ignoring it... The fireworks and screams on the street tell me the end of each game, as soon as I open my window I hear the comments on the games coming from the TVs that are running in every pub. And yesterday they announced the results even in the public transport.

I have, however, found at least one advantage to this silly world cup now - in the hostel I work at there are loads of brazilian guests right now, mainly guys, and quite a few of them quite good looking. So I get to practice portuguese AND flirt with them {just hope the boss doesn't mind that, flirting isn't part of my job description really}

Was it ever said that flirting was definitely not part of your job description?

Heh, that makes me kind of glad I'm not home right now... I whine about it, but if I was home, I would probably throw up from world cup overload just about now. The way it is, I get to experience it all from afar and in low doses, so it's still fun. :)

I thought the football season ended in January. Unless you are referring to Arena Football, of course.

The planet of America, I assume. Well known for the local semantic impairment.

Oooh.

I was locally semantically impaired once.

It was great.

hey, lots of people from your country in berlin today, all with painted faces and flags and silly hats. considered talking to them, to practice and all, but then decided against it...

I don't think you'd get much sensible out of them. :D

that's what i assumed... i guess i have to wait until some other time... only problem is, usually i don't recognize them, they tend to blend in quite well with the germans whenever they are not dressed up for football games...
