Canon dslr t3i

Stumbled across this thread...one of the things I love about Lit is the fact that I learn *something* every time I'm here!

Tol - thanks for taking the time to post all that information!

No problem :)

Learning

I have some experience with a DSLR and thought it would be a breeze adapting to the Canon. The camera has such great capabilities that it can be overwhelming trying to learn it all. I found Canon puts on classes throughout the country and tried one for myself. It was fantastic. The Canon people putting it on put the fun back in the process of learning. Here's my 2 cents, check out the Canon website (very helpful and informative) and secondly, take your camera everywhere and take pictures, be bold and try settings out of the norm. you will learn from your successes as well as your bloopers. Have fun with it !

Also, keep a log of what settings you used when you took each picture; it doesn't do any good trying different settings if you can't remember which picture goes with which setting.

Those are good reminders. It's funny because I was in a park yesterday and thought it would be a perfect place to take some pictures, but I had left it at home. I need to keep the thought of taking pictures in my head so I think of my camera.

Canon doesnt offer those classes in my area, but we do have some photography clubs, that sounds like fun and I can get hands on training as well!

Look up KreativeTechLA on youtube. He has some very good info on these camera's

or go to http://oneslidephotography.com/ another good site :rose:
I took a look at the website, the explainations are great! I like how he gave examples of the size of each type of picture. That was very helpful. The best part is that I am charging my camera battery right now, cheer!

Ty!

Glad to help out. Youtube videos are great. With how cheap memory is now. Take tons of pics with different settings.

Also. LightRoom 5 is a little expensive but well worth it for editing.
