I get my DVDs from greencine.com which has a similar system to netflix except it has a more interesting selection (I originally subscribed because of the low-budget B-movies that I enjoy, but was pleasently surprised that there was porn as well). I agree that the Candida Royalle's Femme Collection movies are great. I own several of them. Right now my fave is The Bridal Shower. I don't know how familiar you are with porn, but assuming you know what hardcore is and want to watch it, Jenna Jameson's "Pirate Movie" has actual pirate ships and horses and, well ... a budget. The directing and action isn't great, but it definitely has a plot to tie the sex scenes together.

There's also ANOTHER hardcore pirate movie, called, I bleieve "Pirates" that has a big budget and an actual plot that's supposed to have pretty good production values.

Now if you are looking for good characterization in your stories, I don't know of a lot. But I'm not a woman, and I would hesitate to say that what appeals to me appeals to women. I also liked "The Fashionistas," which has a plot and is about four long but is also chock full of sex including an orgy.

For softcore, "The Key to Sex" has a lighthearted approach to its story, kind of a musical bedrooms farce, and in fact most will have plots, but the sex will be limited in terms of what you can see and oftentimes fakey and slo-mo.

If you like cartoons, Japanese adult anime are full of storylines and sometimes have interesting characters, but tend to be kinky and somewhat disgusting in places as well. But my wife likes them because even though some extreme thigns happen in them, "No Women Were Harmed in the Production of This Movie."

I like some of Marc Dorcel's movies. Dunno how good the plots are (since they are in French, with the exception of a film called "Garces en Uniforme" which had an English naration dubbed by the star, Katsumi. That one definitely didn't have a plot, but it did have lots of sex scenes involving cute girls in Navy uniforms on a ship. Most of them seem to have SOME kind of plot going on, and it's actually quite fun to try and figure them out from non-verbal cues.

As has been said before, Pirates is a high-budget pirate porn movie that is supposed to have a decent plot, another one worth looking at is Space Nuts, a porn parody of Star Wars. Lots of comic relief, hot sex scenes, goofy makeup jobs, goofier acting, and campy special effects.

For serious hentai, I recommend the "Bible Black" series. Just watch it in Japanese with the subtitles, the English voice acting is horrible. The Japanese voice acting may very well be worse, but I can't understand it, so I can't tell.

There are also a variety of comedy hentai out there, if you like your sex to be funny. One I saw called "Sex Demon Queen" involved lots of random sidebar events that had nothing to do with the plot. Also, there's one scene where one of the heroines shows up to save her friend from a sex monster of some sort, and is told by her friend something along the lines of "wait just a few more minutes"

British Director Anna Span makes porn films for women. They cater to common females fantasies, have story lines and show an attention to detail missing in male orientated porn. That one was hilarious, hubby and I giggled all the way through it. Perhaps I am setting my bar a bit too high, but if that's "acting" then I fear for the industry. I'd give it ace awards for best comedy, though.
